Hi guys
I´m returning after 10+ months break, and was thinking about creating a Revenant and make him my new main. But I´m a bit worried, if it won´t be nerfed too much in next balance patch. What you guys thinking? Is it worth investing my time and resources into this class?

Also, I would like to ask, what is better for solo/small scale roaming between Revenant and Engineer (my current main) ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

The class isn’t going to be “nerfed” for quite some time. The vast majority of the issues are L2P ones because of ignorance of how the Revenant works. The Rev has some major issues due to half baked last minute refactors before launch that would need to be addressed before anything is “brought into line” with other classes abilities.

At some point without a doubt revenant will become trash like war. That bc devs want to make some stuff up and other op to “shake up meta”. Either play if you like it or stay away from it if you want hop on bandwagon

Yes you can, that’s how you win games by countering the enemy comp or playing OP professions. Revenant counters everything right now, easily the strongest profession in the game. By your logic, balance should have happened for Warriors but where is it?

Mallyx/Shiro? DD, Druid, Scrapper and tempest will take too long to even bother, Chrono

Glint/Shiro? Condi stuff (reaper, chrono, druid, even burn guard). DD is tough matchup as well

Sorry dude, but as a mallyx rev I’ve never had a problem with any of those builds. Scrapper and chrono goes down to condi quickly, same with tempest after diamond skin is broken which is easy to do with viper amulet. Druid will eventually die to condis unless they are bunker at which point it’s a stalemate. Daredevil is easy to kill by simply double swapping all 4 of your sigils in melee range along with the mallyx elite.

As for power rev, yes they are weak to condis, but with their crazy access to evades, blocks, and full heals, any good revenant will avoid most of it while outputting an insane amount of damage.

Then you never played against decent opponent. Both scrapper and chrono should survive condi just fine if they are build properly. They may not beat you but you wont beat them either. Properly played daredevil will burst you 100-0 the moment you swap to Mallyx and it is a well know fact. PS..which thief trying to facetank stuff by standing in melee range? lol

Power rev looks so scary yet ppl started using Mallyx due to resistance spamming as uunder condi pressure they all went poof. That one is interesing kitten

This. Scrapper and Chrono should SHREK a condi rev but the condi revs’ access to resistant makes it strong against the other classes in the meta. The problem with the power ref is the condi meta and it won’t survive, sword 3 too buggy, Staff 2 needs more damage (if you use staff) Shiro heal siphon should scale with POWER and not healing power, but the class is in a nice position anyways.

so i think you change your build to counter ppl in duels and you change profession according to patch notes…

It’s possible that you’re just better than a lot of people. I know they say they aim for 50% winrate, but there’s no way that’s the case when your division is factoring into 50% of your matchmaking.

If the Tempest is good, they will make breaking their Diamond skin very difficult. I think it’s the one class that, if played well, will probably fully counter Mallyx Herald. Other classes that bunker are more often stalemates and not worth your time.

Power Shiro is pretty easy to counter by consistent condi preassure and large amounts of health (Reapers). Having said all that, I do think we have the strongest class in PvP right now, and we do need a bit of a toning down. Not any big nerfs mind you, maybe some adjustments on energy costs in Mallyx. I’d rather them look at our mechanic before looking at numbers and cd’s.
