No speed?
You can gain perma-swiftness on one the Legendary Dragon stance Facets. You can also blast inside the Legendary Dwarf stances Rock Road Utility skill.
There may be other methods I’m forgetting off of the top of my head, I’m sure more folks will chime in.
I think Heralds/Glints party-wide perma swiftness pretty much compensates for a no 25%ms trait, as I don’t really see any open world build forgoing Herald traitline in favour of any other. The same imho applies for spvp and pve, where ms is of a slightly lesser concern – with herald bringing so much boons into the play, I doubt many builds will favour other traitlines as it synergises well with any type of a build.
For me it’s pretty much like Discipline on warrior – you can live without it, but it would be a tad masochistic.
You also have Shiros movement skills and impossible odds als gives superspeed
Oh good call, Mallyx Unyielding Anguish is a large repeatable ground-targeted leap.
To clarify as well Superspeed is the same speed as Swiftness out of combat even when in combat. This means out of combat you’ll move as fast as people with Swiftness and in combat you’ll easily overtake or escape from people in combat. This isn’t really maintainable and usually you’ll get 10 seconds of Super Speed in most cases (20 at max energy).
Herald has most consistent speed with Facet of Elements of course with permanent Swiftness at only -1 energy cost.
There is always Traveler Runes as well which Revenant takes much advantage of as we have reasonable sources of boons as well as conditions if it really becomes that big of a hassle for you.
Just seems like Anet ignored the feedback from a huge proportion of their population and made another class that’ll be a pain to level because of lack of speed.
Why would you even level without Herald? Perma swiftness, perma fury, perma 5-7 stacks of might. When you are fighting you can switch to your legend of choice.
We’re talking leveling here, it’s a quick bam bam and move on to the next mob, not involved rotations like killing a boss requires.
for leveling the speed provided by Shiro is quite enough

Herald is an elite specialisations, hon :P Can’t get it before level 80 and in Heart of Thorns region.
As far as I know the revenant will start with Jalis. Grab a mace and staff. Mace 3 and Staff 4 are blasts, it will keep swiftness up on ya long enough for the weapon skills to come off cooldown.
Mallyx has a ground targeted leap, as pointed out earlier.
I think revenant will be a blast to level and also a very strong solo player with mace/axe staff sets.
edit Also shiro’s impossible odds grants super speed. Don’t really need anything else apart from that and your auto attack to wreck things :P
Also rune of the centaur is relatively cheap and offers a boost to swiftness duration as well as swiftness on heal skill. So ultimately if speed is what you want, you have it in multiple ways.

Ah crap, didnt know what. That’s what I get for hoping into the beta for just a quick check of things. Well, if that’s the case there goes my plan of leveling a Revenant. I’ll just pop it at 80 and do the new maps anyway.
