If could work like mesmer’s counter attack skills, where a sequence skill is automatically triggered upon block, while a weaker one is available for manual input. It could then work like your suggestion, with chill instead of immobilize for the weaker version.
I’d like to be able to activate the immobilize straight away but have a longer duration immobilize if you get a block off first, that way you’d still have a reliable snare but you would be rewarded for blocking effectively.
What do people think of the offhand sword 5? I don’t personally like it much at all. What’s the use of it? For pvp? Because it doesn’t feel useful in pve.

I like that it doesn’t auto-proc, this lets you continue to block multiple attacks. I also thought that the “BLOCK” tag was easy enough to read. I would just hit 4 again when I was ready to stop blocking and hoped for the best.

As i mentioned in another post i think it’s primary use is to setup UA (skill 3 on mh sword), pull the target away from his friends and land all of UA’s attacks on that one target. So i don’t expect it to do massive damage but as i said in the other post could benefit from adding some vuln to further setup the spike.
What i know is that block is bugged and you can bypass it with attacks.

offhand sword feels weak to me and 5 is rather annoying because you move backwards and pull the one with you. I do see how it can be used but it’s stronger for pvp than pve. and the block for 4 is only useful if you have agro on the creature you’re fighting otherwise you just wasted a move and time you could have been dealing damage. I’m not against the offhand sword, I just don’t see it being used in fractals or dungeons very often. Axe has more useful there.

Yeah, that bug got me downed a few times. Seems to occur when a large amounts of hits from an enemy/aoe occur during your block, probably something to do with the code responsible for registering an attack against the block and allowing use of the followup immobolize.

Yeah, I don’t get the point of “pull out one enemy so you can hit them with all the #3s.” idea. I mean, in most cases, you do want to hit all the enemies, and in cases where you only want to hit one, often they are immune to the drag effect anyways. Plus you actually have to enter melee range to activate it, and in many cases where you do want to pull an enemy to you, it’s because where they are is too dangerous to enter.
I was using it a bit to pull Threshers out of that death puddle they’ve got, but even then it’s clunky, and the range is too short to pull them entirely out of it.
