POI Thoughs
No AOE resistance or condi cleanse. Even on dps guardian I can have multiple aoe condi cleanses, but to achieve similar results on herald we need mallyx.
We really need some condi traits or baseline.
And I don’t really like the ui for f2.
Aside from that great job. Loved sword and jalis stuff.
Well truthfully this shield is doing exactly what a shield should do for a change. Protecting us, healing us, and helping allies.
This feels kinda like a melee paragon from gw1 but with sword damage luckily getting a buff to I think we’ll be in really good shape
Conditions though are still going to be an issue though for sure yes.
I didn’t notice him say anything about buffing shiro’s heal. And of course, no condi cleanse. Disappointing.

UI isn’t final.
I work on systems, combat, skills, and balance.

Just make sure to keep that flamey skill bar. That was quite sweet!
I agree. Everything else in rev ui is awesome

+1 to that!
I can’t wait to test Glint out, but I’m still worried about Ventari.
My main issue with him is having to re-cast the tablet every time I swap back in it, not the lack of healing.
Also I would like to test out if Mallyx resistance negates the 25 stacks of vulnerability you get from losing your shield’s defiance bar :Q__

The skill bar flame FX for dragon stance is basically final so you are safe.

Some much awesomeness from that POI, with Jalis turning more defensive, hammer and sword getting evades on the right skills, and more CC on staff. And getting another supportive legend, but this time with offensive support included and so many in-combat choices… looks like it’ll be great fun. Spear looks ok, hope a supportive legend like Jalis or Glint will be available too.
Negatives would be that motor-like sound for Envoy of Exuberance, and perhaps the lack of condition removal/negation on Glint.

On the bright side, suumoning and moving your tablet can now be traited for protection.
i warry about the special animation wen using glint and the flameseeker prophecies shield
Thanks Roy, good show.
I like the Herald but I think that the GM trait ‘Enhanced bulwark’ is really lackluster. I see the synergy between the dwarf stone road and this trait but I still feel like its not really GM worthy. Maybe I am missing some uber combo with this trait?

2 Stacks of Stab after each Dodge Roll
I’m a bit confused by the two auto-attacks. Does the game detect your range and pick which one to use? Or do you have to toggle skill 1 or skill 2 based on your moment to moment preference?
This has finally clinched it for me.
I am so looking forward to creating and playing my revenant.

You decide which one will be autocast by the game by “setting it up” as your Autoattack with Shift(?)+RMB.

Well usually just #1 skill is you AA in this case your #1 skill is ranged auto and your #2 skill is melee auto. They aren’t built into the same skill they are separate.
For me, there is a little “problem” with one of the Herald’s traits: Bolster Fortification.
While it’s really useful on a heal, doesn’t protection remove 33% of the heal Infuse Light is supposed to grant? It seems a bit counter-productive…
Also, the only thing I regret with the Revenant is that they only have 3 utilities… That’s really sad to have really few customization options, and far less skills than any other class… Why can every other class have 6 of each skill type and the Revenant only 5? 6 signets for the Warriors, 6 shouts for the Guardian, Reaper, and Tempest… Each Legendary Stance should have a fourth utility to choose from, maybe different from other types (no signet for Glint e.g.)
For example:
- Mallyx Wild Smash similar to Warrior’s Stomp, or Summoning Shadows that blinds nearby foes.
- Shiro Echoing Banishment short-range skill that makes the enemy shadowstep backwards.
- Ventari Pacifism short to mid-range skill that stuns enemies so they cannot attack (1 to 3 enemies maximum).
- Jalis Dwarven Battle Stance your next 5 attacks are unblokable.
- Glint Jagged Crystal Skin gain Retaliation but move a bit slower.
You see, something in that perspective, just to allow Revenants to be different from each other, not simple carbon copies…

Ok, so just like now when you can pick any skill 1 – 0 to autocast, except that in this case the number 2 also has no cooldown and is low cost? But you can’t seamlessly swap between them since you have to do the CTRL right click (pretty sure it is CTRL not SHIFT).
That seems less innovative than the stream made it sound.
Why need Condi clear when you have resistance? So much better
humm…. wonder how ventari + glint would work :|
I trust ANet
lol nice one.
