The ground effect of Facets is way too distracting. Even the legendary footsteps of Eternity fade away if you stand still.

Would it be possible for the Facets to have their ground effects modified to be less distracting?

The outside features are fine, the solid circle in the center is what’s a bit over the top.

I agree with the middle circle being very intrusive and annoying. I would really like to see that go altogether. And if you don’t feel like ‘wasting your art’, then just let the big dragon symbol inside ‘flash’ when you switch to Herald and then fade out in a sec or 2.

I have another issue with it that I may as well list here since it’s covered by this thread title. I find myself constantly rotating my character JUST to check if the facet at 12 o’ clock is still active. This is nuts. You typically always watch your character’s back and that facet will always be obscured by your own character. These are supposed to be helpful visual clues. Since it’s easy to run out of energy and have them disabled.

I do not understand why they aren’t spaced out 3 on the left and 3 on the right. Like at 1,3,5,7,9 & 11 o ’clock. This seems like such an obvious QOL improvement that I feel kind okittenward needing to bring this up.

I like it too, but I understand their point of view. In some situations where you need to dodge aoes it overlaps with the red circle and distracts you.

Also think about colorblind people.

I came to this forum to pretty much post the same thing, the Revenenat has now become the most over the top distracting gawdy disco ball currently in the game, all the different colors of particle effects u get on the gloves from diff legends coupled with this new hover disc that u move around on is just all so out of sync with eachother.
For a start the hover disc reminds me of playing games 30 years ago, and I’m not even exaggerating here, that disc makes it feel as if the character and the game world are 2 separate things that are not interacting with eachother correctly, like I said that’s how it was 30 years ago, don’t bring that back please!
Also the issue I have with the diff colors on gloves effect when using diff legends, whoever thought of this did you consider some people are actually trying to make their characters armor match their weps etc, and now u throw on thse multi-colours that completely ruin that, do you think I want to have glowing green gloves when im using foefires hammer? NO I don’t, sure this may not be an issue for most people since probably 8/10 cant dress their characters anyway, but personally I’m not going to play a character that has more colors going on than joesephs technicolour dreamcoat.

In short tone it all down like a lot, right now I’m not making an Revenant again for these reasons.

I like it. But at the same time I wish it were something else. Was talking with a buddy about this. Personally believe it would look better if it was something akin to the Ellen and Evan badges where they float around the head. Or even something that orbits the players character as opposed to the static ground icons.

I didn’t mind the animation but i agree the icon at 12 o’clock is hard to see behind your character. I also found it annoying going uo stairs in keeps in wvw because it blurs really badly due to the animation been projected onto the surface your running over

it looks nice if you are afk in silverwastes, i get that people like being the center of attention

but actively; seeing anyone else but yourself with a yellow circle flying all over the map is annoying

I really hope they will change it, this effect is terrible, they changed chaos armor because it was too much but this is actually much worse, if there have to be something should be something imperceptible like the new chaos armor or ele bubble thing

Why we even have it to begin with and that others can see it doesn’t make sense. Beyond that I just don’t think it looks out of place in the game’s graphics. It would be nice to see it removed or at least an option added in to make it non-visible (not just to me, but seeing others as well).

agree, the opacity of the ground circle is too high, should be 50% of what it currently is. enough to still be noticeable without it looking so ridiculous.

I like the thing. It’s thematic, and in PvP it’s a big glowing beacon that says, “I am obviously running Glint right now, so everyone can know what to expect out of me”, which is to see them swap to something else when they REALLY want to turn dangerous, be it Mallyx or Shiro. The second you see the dragon spotlight go is when you get out of range and force them to use either the hammer or burn up their alt legend’s energy and boons chasing you.

i hate it. keeping the facet icons and dropping the opacity way down would still communicate what facets are in use without the buggy epilepsy-inducing strobing and background drone.

So the new facet icons, that have no resemblance to any skill icon, makes it possible to see whst u have active? When i played or play on other classes, thst info is given through our buff and skill bar. I just find it possible for someone to actually find the facet icons useful in any way during battle with much clutter on screen, even in general surely it must be hard to use those visuals for anything other than fluff?

I don’t mind the ground effect that much but I can see how some people think it’s a distraction. Perhaps have the inside of the effect more transparent and have the dragon and facet skill icon fade in and out. Also the Legend color effect on the arms isn’t all that bad to me so I think that should stay. Overall it’s no worse than the legendary weapon effects which imo are the most distracting effects in the game.
