I really love the Revenant running glint/shiro for PvE content. It’s superb.

When I looked into the competitive side of things I’m struggling to see how this configuration will work because it lacks condition removal and stability or abundant stun breaks.

What do you guys like or think will work best for Revenant in competitive play?

For competitive play it seems to me that running Mallyx and the corruption line will be almost mandatory to give the revenant a way to deal with conditions.
Jalis is a strong second choice for 3 condi’s removed on healing skill and the stability road
The specialisation line with stability on dodge and retaliation on dodge also help us to resolve this problem.

However, I worry that you lose a lot of team support and DPS by choosing these legends, be it through condi’s/direct damage or both via celestial stats.

Roaming I imagine would be Malyx Glint or Malyx Shiro with Mace/Axe and Mace/Shield as Corruption/Retri/Herald. Not sure on stat combination yet, still mulling it over and kinda hoping that with HOT there’ll be a mace skin I want.

I can see Mallyx/Glint being good because condis get really OP in wvw with +40% food.

I can also see a tanky power spec that abuses the +30% crit chance from fury and easy perma-fury doing quite well if it can find a way to deal with condis. Perhaps even something like Ventari/glint.

The key to finding a good spec in GW2 is finding a way to maximize whatever OP mecahnics a class has access to. Eles only work when maximizing healing. Memsers maximize burst or stealth/condi. Thieves burst and stealth…etc.

I’ve been running Glint/Shiro and have been doing just fine, plenty of buffs and damage. I have been running with 1-2 other friends so we make sure to to run comps that compliment each other. Someone else has been taking care of the Condi cleansing, so far the setups we have ran have been pretty impressive.

Good point Random, I’d forgotten the teamwork element there. I guess guardian’s can take care of stability when you really need it too. I guess I was foolishly thinking of solo cue instead of forming team comps.

Blackbeard – I hadn’t even considered Glints “double-press” abilities on the facets. Some of those condi’s are lovely and Mallyx/Glint is definitely something I’m exploring for PvP and WvW roaming.

I was running a condi setup in pvp, and when fighting another revenant he was dealing with my condis great with the ventari tablet, that doesnt work as well in wvw but i imagine using the swirling hammers and a food and runes that reduce condi duration in wvw you will do fine with so much condi duration reduction

That’s something I hadn’t looked into at all thejoedude. I’ll have to take a closer look at the tablet.

I’ve made a glint/mallyx carrion hybrid with a lot of stability/retaliation/resistance uptime to make up for the lack of condi removal and stun breaks. It’s worked well so far.

I’ve yet to jump in WvW as a roamer, I think it will perform well there too but maybe running a carrion/rabid mix of stats, that’s my next thing to do I guess…

Or full dire? Hmm.. the possibilities!
