PvE Condi Rev questions and musing
Always thought it was superior to go straight damage in pve than condition?
Even with the fourth stats, this is still the consensus no?
Crystal Desert
I have 5 other pure Power dps alts. I want to try a condi build, for funsies.
I’m not sure on the math, but I think that Condi Rev just isn’t great for PvE currently. The new mobs move around a lot, but several bosses don’t and anything in the old content barely moves either, so your Torment will do pitiful damage and your Poison and Burns are just bonuses really.
If Roy follows up with that trait that increases Torment damage on enemies that stand still, then I guess it’ll be more viable in more places.

If you watch some of the raids from beta weekend you will see that raid boss generally move around a lot more and takes more then 30 seconds to kill. So I think torment damage will be one of the best condition damage to stack with the raid coming. The old content is really too vulnerable to being burst down.
It sounds counter intuitive to make torment damage increase on stand still enemy when the whole point of the torment condition is to do double damage when they move . . . .
What he should fix is the venom enchantment trait and lower the ICD to 3 seconds or something. Hell just reduce the ICD for some of the traits in corruption. . . it so dam high . . .
Spontaneous Destruction . . .25 seconds . . .
Diabolic Inferno . .10 seconds . . .
And just get rid of Maniacal Persistence . . we don’t need Crit chance with herald trait line which is almost always 100% taken in pve. :/
interesting.
so im trying this condi build for pve and so far it seems devastating but I havent crunched numbers.
Corruption 3-1-1
Invocation 3-1-1
Glint 3-2-1
Mace/Axe Hammer
Bursting/Force x/x hammer
sinister (although I think viper could be better I have no idea)
Nightmare runes
Shiro/Glint as legends
Stack 4 boons on glint drop elemental blast release F2 F2
swap to shiro auto attack – 2- 3 – auto attack -2 – Impossible Odds etc repeat.
I cant compare it to power and I havent run it in ascended gear but I love it
Edit: I use Mallyx in power and it might be worth using here too instead of shiro. Thing is, with a good chronomancer you dont really need shiro imo. Mallyx might offer more, both with taking condis for more dps and for the aoe torment. Not sure, hope someone else gives it a whirl

K so, to my fellow PVE Condi revs, we might as well make this the official thread for condi builds. Ive been running a lot of different variations and it seems to work well, although we dont have enough condi traits at all. Heck, we dont have a condi ranged weapon, thankfully hammer scales well so in sinister gear its still decent.
Only thing making condi viable is that mace is actually a very, very, very good condi weapon. In the hands of another class like necro or engi it would be unstoppable
Rev condi just can’t put up the dps as a sinister engi or even a rabid ranger. You can’t take rev condi for pve and not get laughed at. If you burn your entire energy you’ll get 20+ stacks of torment (useless condi for pve atm). The mob takes more damage from constant 3-4+ stacks of burning from a sinister engi or rabid ranger than 20 stacks of torment from a short out of energy condi rev.

I tried it, it’s bad, and it’s even worse if the boss/mob you’re hitting is stationary.

So far the cond rev I made does nice damage.
I’m using mostly rampagers with a sprinkling of carrion
this allows me to do good power damage and even better cond damage.
Burns crit- and mace + glint burn + perma might stacking is really good.
