[PvP] Revenant builds
For the first one I would recommend using the hammer. Paired with impossible odds AND field of the mists, hammer does a kitten load of damage. Also IMO assassin’s annihilation is better than invigorating flow since it can proc once per sec instead of once per 5s, and it deals extra damage.

Ok, thanks for advices. Assassin’s annihilation looks like a really good trait. But, I am not sure if it’s worth it to replace Swift Termination. I took Invigorating Flow because Incensed Response is mostly useless with so many fury already. Equilibrium doesn’t look so good, it has weaker heal and that damage is low for 9 sec.

It’s not. How often do you attack foes from behind compared to foes under 50% health? Swift Termination is a must if you want to prevail in 1vs1

Its also from sides, not just behind. Do you know how “sides” work in this game? You basically hitting up a guy in front of you and you still proc this trait.. Try it on ranger shortbow 1. From the position i am on ss i can apply bleeds. I proced anhi basically the whole time i was hitting someone in melee. I consider this trait to be much better than the one which boost your damage by 20% to targers under 50% hp. Rev needs a lot of healing due to poor #6 skills and that helps him a bit. Howered i think they should get rid of cd.

Hmm…it depends.
Hammer is nice on WvW, but rather hopeless in actual PvP. It’s main source of damage scales with range, #5 is too slow for PvP and once someone enters point blank range and starts running back and forth through your character’s model, he will cancel most of your AAs and you’re forced to swap.
Staff on the other hand has an amazing block on low CD, condi cleanse/heal, evade with CC and good damage, weakness and a daze. Plus pretty good AA with nicely scalling healing.
As for the OP – I would consider replacing OH Sword with OH Axe. Look at those energy costs on sword, eugh.

Yeah you’re right about #5 being too slow for pvp, last bw I used it mostly on downed bodies to prevent resses, and just to bait dodges in the middle of nodes. Hammer beats staff in pure dps though, and its a ranged weapon. Also with hammer 3 being an evade now it might add more survivability than before. So for pure dps go with hammer, and for utility go with staff.

This is what I’m going to test in pvp in BWE2.

Looks solid, but you’re wasting one sigil slot. Both weapon swap and legend swap proc on swap sigils, if you monitor these well you can achieve maximum sigil effectiveness by putting it only on one slot, similar to the weapon swap cooldown trait for warrior. The easiest way to manage your on swap sigils would be swapping weapons right after you swap legends. Let me give you an example of how it works. My sigils are Hydromancy/leeching and Geomancy/energy. Once I enter combat I can legend swap right away, proccing my hydromancy and leeching with my legend swap right away, I can then immediately afterwards swap weapons to also get the second set of on swap sigils to proc (the geomancy and the energy sigil). This gives you some nice burst, and allows you to effectively use these on swap sigils on the 9 seconds of cooldown they have, instead of the 18 seconds cooldown most classes have to deal with. One thing to note is that you can’t always leave the legend you’re currently in on a set time, you shouldn’t go out of Mallyx when still dealing with lots of condis, or out of Shiro when chasing someone, so that’s when you can just use the weaponswap seperately, but you’ll have to track the cooldown and delay the legend swap until your weaponswap is off cooldown again.
@Wandelaar yeah I was thinking of swapping Leeching to Energy on Shield as there isn’t any vigor on Rev, only the 25% while upkeeping. Thanks for the tip

Hello! I know this is none of my business but I see you are making pvp builds, I have been using a great celestial revenant build in ranked pvp. Try it out for me this weekend and tell me how you like it, I’m using mace/axe, staff. With vamp runes and leeching/doom on both weapons. For traits I went corruption, retribution, devastation, in corruption I took demonic defiance, bolstered anguish, and pulsating pestilence. In retribution I took close quarters, redeeming protection, and steadfast rejuvenation. Last for devastation I took assassins presence, nefarious momentum, and assassins annilation. Very fun build. It utterly destroys cele eles too with boon rip and confusion spam so have fun with that. Good luck! Oh and for legends in using shiro/mallyx obviously.
bunker guard will live again, well, someday
is Crystal Hibernation viable in pvp? How about the fact that you’re locked for 4 seconds and if you get 3-4 cc you are basically dead?
Ok so this is the build I have landed on
Having Glint over Shiro is better in most situations. You become slower, but the utility on Glint is awesome and the only Shiro skill I miss is Phase Traversal, so the trade off is worth it.

I’ve had quite some succes with this build. Yesterday I used Marauder amulet and hoelbrak runes, keeping up decent might from UA, upkeeps and F2. Now I switched to Valkyrie amulet for more health and with Roiling Mists and Runes of rage/pack you can keep your critical chance between 40-50% with fury. With pack you have more power, rage gives 5% modifier.
Keeping elements/strength/darkness on out of combat stacks boons, using F2 before engaging and active from elements/strength for damage. If you run out of survivability on glint, switch to jalis extra heals/damage reduction. Shield and staff will also help you survive. Glint actives/boons and sword are your damage sources.
