Guild Wars 2

So for those of you who know me, I’m typically a Necromancer player but World Map completion(ing) is killing me so I need to change things up a little. Decided to make a Rev, since it’s the only other class that interests me and I was hoping to get some feedback on my ‘potential’ build.

I’m a PvEr, first off so PvP and WvW mean nothing to me. I’ve tried Shiro but it feels stupidly weak and most of the Utilities are pretty much for the start of the fight or a pointlessly quick burst, wasting all of my energy and leaving me unable to use my weapon skills so I’m no longer a fan of Shiro. Mallyx I’ve come to love because, even though I’m building Power, it provides me with Condi-control and all but one of the Utility skills is useful to me and my playstyle. I still play the way I do with my Reaper: using Condis as an additional DPS/damage source instead of trying to use it as my main DPS/damage source. I’m aware Invocation is the ‘meta’ choice, but I personally don’t like it. It seems to be only useful for Roiling Mists, which is a waste to me when I can get Maniacal Persistence an constantly increase my Precision (instead of just receiving a static boost). The rest of the Corruption Spec-line offers more to me than Invocation, hence why I didn’t choose that route. Retribution is another option, going for straight defense instead of trying to fully cap offense but I figured I’d try to capitalize off of my weaknesses and cover my vulnerable spots.

Replenishing Despair is a theoretical experiment of mine, while Demonic Defiance is still a strong option. With Facet of Nature and proper Boon Duration (maybe swap out Sigil of Strength for Plat Doubloons) Resistance should be near permanent (in theory), allowing me to gain power from that Boon thanks to Elder’s Force while also gaining power from any Condis I receive/draw (Bolstered Anguish).

Thoughts? Like I said this is a Power build with Condi damage being utilized as additional damage/DPS, not as the main damage source. In theory, and on paper, it seems good if not ok but I’m wondering on you Rev mains’ opinions.

You’re not applying enough conditions for it to be worth an investment in traits. Also, based on your weapons and gear (armor/trinkets) selection you have nothing that benefits conditions. Some of your traits also rely on incoming conditions when open world and PVE in general does not have many. HoT is an exception depending on the map
