In all honesty, some racial skills are better than some of the Revenant utility skills.
For example, in PVE, Pain Absorption on Mallyx is categorically useless, its only practical to use in PVP, where theres hundreds of conditions at a time being thrown around. Considering my Revenant will be a Charr, I would rather slot Battle Cry for the Fury, considering Revenant doesn’t get much Fury, but loads of traits to synergise with it.
Yah, that could be a reason why we are not allowed racial skills. However Mistfire Wolf is something people spent money on to use it as Elite skill. A little bit unfair that players can’t do Revenant to use it.
I agree however that even Mistfire Wolf is currently better then Jalis elite…
I completely agree, let us swap in racial skills. Racial skills completely suck, but so do some rev skills. At least now we could have a chance to use racial skills as we are stuck with select (unwanted depending on situation) skills as revenant.
If having racial skills is unacceptable. As an appeasement I will be willing to accept a Mistfire wolf mini pet. =)

OH GOD, i would absolutely LOVE an mistfire wolf mini pet, and when you think about it, wouldn’t it be the perfect minipet for revenant too?
Racial skills could be really relevant on Rev, if Rev’s don’t have options for utility slots (other than by the legend they pick). If a particular utility skill is useless on your build or in the game mode you play, might as well swap it with a racial skill instead.
But no, I don’t have any information as to whether or not Rev will have access to them.
And what about other skills, like the Antitoxin heal? That could be better than some legend heals…but it could also be sloppy and broken if we were allowed to put it in the Ventari heal slot, for example. I think racials could give Revs a lot of much-needed versatility though, so I’d hate so see them unusable.
I am going to be pretty miffed if we do not get racial skills on revenants.
I can see the potential technical hurdles with it, but really that should be no excuse — anti-toxin spray being removed was already unnecessary, sure it couldn’t be “trained” but it could have at least remained as a sort of universal raicial skill in PvE and WvW (it certainly seemed weak enough outside of ToN release window, where it actually had some theoretical use cases, to fit the category).
Mistfire Wolf is actually imo. a really good looking skill I have some fun memories of using it as a placeholder elite when levelling my first character and it even saved my hide a few times back then (Remember doing the wall jumping puzzle in one Charr areas for map completion and those pesky veterans, that I was too lazy to kill admittedly, downing me but luckily I popped the wolf just before and he ended up rallying me).

I understand that Revenant legend skills are different from common skills (no cd, energy cost), but I’m sure it won’t be a problem to add 1 skill people have paid for. Mistfire wolf on Revenant won’t be gamebreaking, just a good looking thing.
It’s inferior to current elite skills (except Ventari, but you need it).
EDIT: god, I’d love Mistfire Wolf with Ventari tablet. He can attack while I manage the tablet.
They should just convert racial skills to require energy and remove the cd if its a problem. Though it probably wouldn’t work. Being able to have mistfire wolf out permanently…. Hm actually that’s a good idea, I mean it completely sucks anyways (although cosmetically amazing). Being permanent might actually put this almost on par with normal elites.
Yeah, but I don’t really care if it’s useful or not. As you said it’s cosmetically amazing.
It would be a waste, it seems it was just there waiting for the Revenant.
Well if they would put the Legendary Centaur Stance on an elite specialization and give us a new healing spec that doesn’t revole around us summoning stuff to use our utilities then maybe the devs could give us an elite which replaces the legend swap mechanic for something more practical….like a celestial type buff =))))
