It strikes me that this is a missing piece to the Revenant. So, it’s fun brainstorming time – what ranged condi weapon would you like to see added to the Revenant’s kitten nal? How could you see the mechanics working?

I could see the sceptre creating some cool misty magic effects, although I must admit my knowledge of GW1 is 0 so I couldn’t comment on the specific old lore to pull on.

Well, the original Ritualist, which is what this seems based on thematically, used wands and foci/fetishes. So scepter or focus might be interesting.

Could the mace autos get a little more range?

main hand Mace is basically all we get for a mid range condi.

As long as it is main hand (and not two handed) I’d be happy. My vote would be for ranged axe.

My prediction would be it’d likely be a good fit for a future Specialization. Condition wise it’d likely focus on the “traditional” conditions such as Bleed, Burning and Poison. Traditionally weapons that inflict Conditions are usually Short bow, Rifle and Pistol. Not sure they’d really go all “crazy time” and do something super unique (IE: ranged hammer, melee staff, etc) again. A lot of weapon selection likely would come down to the Legend chosen. I’d wager the Legend that’s chosen could have a lot to do with the Expansion that it’s coupled with based on the fact Glint is here. For example I could very easily see a scenario where we get a Condition Scepter or Dagger at mid range (900) with a Palawa Joko theme with ranged Wells (we lack ranged GTAOE) should the next expansion be Elona.

This was actually something I’d envisioned for the elite spec before we had Herald revealed. I was dead certain we’d get Ritualist Legend (Togo? Razah?) with a focus/scepter, and it’d give us the ability to spawn conjure weapons in the same vein as the GW1 weapon spell skills.

Splinter Weapon longbow spawn with a crazy kitten barrage? Vital Weapon shield to fling heals and protection as allies? Oh boy.

A bit off topic, but I just had to sperg at the mention of the good old Rit.

What about ele? Although it’s a close to mid range weapon, it still counts more or less as ranged weapon on water attunement. But correct me, if I’m wrong.

Oh, and to answer OP’s question: Either scepter or maybe, but just maybe ranged axe? Not like necro axe, because that’s a power weapon, but more as a ranged condi applying weapon about 600 – 900 range. edit: Scratch that, since we don’t have any offhand weapons for range. Also we have already the axe as weapon, although as offhand.

I will not stop my crusade to get Rev a greatsword, so my vote goes for that. Though i’d prefer it in a power build, i’ll take what i can get.

i would defently want our next elite spec (in 3 years) to be some kind of ritualist with a SCAPTER that will work like the underwater spear
1 is range
2 is midrange/close range
3 some cool BOOM with condi

It is a little disappointing that it seems we won’t be seeing a condi ranged weapon for some time.

Longbow/Dagger or Main hand axe for me now after reading the thread would all be amazing.

Rifle,as a shotgun,because i like rifle.

close range: large-scale condition damage
midrange range: movement-impeding conditions

I always just saw ele Dagger as an extended melee range weapon. While yes the water auto attack does have 600 range, the nature of the water skillset is such that it’s an afterthought compared to the rest of the kit.

I probably should have worded it better, but I was referring to it as an entire skillset rather than one auto attack.

In all likelihood Revenant will end up getting the greatsword, but it’s more likely to happen as one of the other two elite specs rather than part of the core kit.

Could be scepter. I also think there’s a good chance they’ll think about allowing new elite specs in the next expansion to use underwater weapons on land (who doesn’t want to play a spear wielding warrior?), so maybe even some kind of trident spec? Would be cool.

You’re probably right, which is going to hurt because Glint is so gooooood!
