Revenant has a weakness to conditions, even with the old malyx we couldn’t sustain resistance indefinitely.

But what we can do is sustain resistance so that low duration high stacks of burn fall off before doing any damage.

What we could do is also make them damage our enemies.

This would be just an easy step towards balancing all the problems in pvp with high stacks of burn.

Would you as a d/d ele be constantly going through ring of fire rotations when you know a revenant could strafe multiple times through your field and put 12+ stacks of burn on you.

Would guards and engies feel comfortable going full burn if they knew every time they did that rotation the stacks would be on them?

Please bring back the transfer. It adds so much needed counterplay to the game.

Roy made a point why the condi transferring had to be removed: It simply didn’t go along with support builds which got high amounts of condi cleansing, because it’s far more annoying to get stripped of your main damage source (aside from the immensly high torment stacking) than getting killed in the first place.

A far better solution would be if they actually nerf burn dmg to the rate where it still hurts but not so much to be downed within seconds.

No, the best solution would be to have the original Mallyx but have an effect in Mallyx make you immune to cleansing while the legend is active. However the devs don’t have the resources to create new or better coding that much, which is why they do things like turn downstate displacement into knock back, when they should have just changed the coding to make the displacement get blocked by stability.

There are plenty examples of lazy coding in the game. You just have to teleport out of a ring of fire or rally off of necro transferred conditions applied to your friend to see why.

Yeah, maybe make a minor trait giving you immunity to condi cleanse while you are in Mallyx (or while under effect of resistance) and every time condition should be removed from you by your allies, you are healed for a small amount instead (or you gain 1 might stack).

I am lazy to write it over and over. So sorry for my English.

I don’t understand roys reasoning for not allowing the condi transfer/cloning on the Malyx Elite tbh..

How’s it any different to other abilities in-game that transfer your conditions to an enemy? Or convert your conditions into a boon?

That point was done for the entire playstyle, which was reliant on self-applied conditions.

People don’t see the problem with condi-transfering on the elite itself, as it isn’t very different than what other professions can do already. And that is why this issue is talked about quite often here.

Seconded! This playstyle is already on the necromancer, so why can’t it be on the revenant?

I said this in another thread.

What if EtD was the only skill that put conditions on self ? I propose…

Self: 1 random condition every second for 3 sec.
Outgoing: 3 conditions (less if you have fewer) copied for 3 sec every second.

This way you can use it strategically with players that are trying to cleanse…rather than every skill giving yourself condis. So plan to use maybe Pain Absorption to cleanse team then use EtD, then have your team mate cleanse you or w/e. This way you are not being counter productive to someone cleansing. People can learn what EtD looks like and wait to cleanse. Otherwise Pain Absorbtion is almost 100% useless and extremely situational and EtD will not be worth the energy cost.

They could quite easily just make it a secondary property of the elite, that does not have to be self reliant on the ability to apply conditions to self.

His argument makes zero sense when you consider that plague signet is in no way balanced around necromancers being able to self corrupt.

I agree with this! Resistance is nice on Malix, but the only profession that can counter condition damage is necro right now. (And ele can cleanse). It would be nice if revenant had an option to at least counter condition damage, when choosing Malix.

Yes, that’s what I think as well. And the kit synergy is already there, even after the new changes, because the resistance skill is still tehre as well. It would bring back a very sweet and flavored combo, without having to bring back the self-applied condition playstyle that clearly didn’t work out.
