Rev Mains?
I play everything, but I’ll definitely be focusing on Revenant for HoT launch.
it would be a shame if HoT hits and you would say “screw this kitten class i’ll play Dragonhunter” O_O
I’d be all for that, tbh. Dragonhunter still needs some serious work done to be worth considering.
I really like the design. A heavy-armored jack of all trades champion from the mists. Legends speaking to you while you unleash your awesomeness.
I’m sold.
I think arena net have learnt a lot about class design in gw2 over the last few years. You can tell by how each of the legends offers a unique playstyle and the weapons and traits clearly synergise with the playstyles. I think revenent will be the first class to truly offer the ability to play how you want and be effective with whatever your goal is. For that reason I’m switching my guardian for a revenent if I return. Rev feels more like a guardian than guardian anyway. Not sure what happened to guardian but they are certainly not fitting the theme.
Revenant doesn’t have the Aegis nor the barriers to fit Guardian’s role.
It’s explained more in the books however.
I think I’ll stick with necro (shocker?!?!).
I think I’ll stick with necro (shocker?!?!).
not at all. Necro is very durable and fun to play even though People always kitten around with the “no Support” argument. And the Reaper only adds more fun to the Profession, so it is not shocking to see a Necro sticking to the Necro.
Forgot to add my reason why I’m changing mains to Revy.
Absolutely love the look of a Heavy armored Charr, I have both a Warrior and a Guardian. I also liked the idea of an Elementalist, that is being able to switch “modes” with attunements. However, they were missing one of two of my favorite things in a fantasy game: Swords. Also, I hated that you had to constantly switch attuments on CD to be effective. So, when Revy came along, I just absolutely fell in love!
What’s really neat about the Revy is that you could very well never meet the same one twice due to being able to use different thematical utlities. Heck, I plan on actually changing my Legends, using all 5, quite frequently in one play session.

I’m switching to Rev for the fact that their attunements feel more concrete. Mallyx is my favorite particularly for EtD (both thematically and mechanically), but I love the idea that in an instant I can channel Jalis and switch from dealing damage to hard mitigation of damage.
The Legends feel like that operate very uniquely from one another I guess is my appeal to the class.
ME Revenant awesome.
I have a good feeling that I will however if I get caught too often with too low of energy to stun-break or cast, I’ll just stick with my guardian or whatever my guild needs me as.
I’ve played thief since the very first day of GW2, I’m almost at 4k hours with that class. Since balancing has worked out so kittening awesome (god, Anet, why can’t u simply balance thief? Jesus, so disapointed…), I’m definitly gonna switch to rev.
I’ve already crafted a first set of ascended armor and all of the ascended weapons.
… thief is Within Meta by a mile… and Is one of the most used proffessions in ESL, why is a thief complaining about the current balancing?… got some un-needed Survivability nerfs.. but still pretty balanced tbh. just some proffessions need nerfing back down to the balancing instead of how much of a mile they leap above it.
on topic
I have from the day of seeing it said I’m maining a Rev, I already don’t physically want to play any other profession, proving hard times til October 23rd
I main engi and I’m addicted to its gameplay to a level that when i play something else like guard, ranger or necro i feel so bored that a session with them doesn’t last more than 15 min.
Ele mes and thief I like them due to the unique gameplay too, the first being similar to engi in how many skills it has and the second and third being very fast paced and stealth relying.
Reve looks like fun (I haven’t tried it yet, I’m counting the minutes ’till this bwe), its ability to swap entire skillsets using legends reminds me of attunements so i think i will probably like it. It will probably be the first heavy class i like (i only do pvp with guardian when we need a bunker and warrior is the only class i do not have), so I will probably use it a lot.
So far as becoming my main..I don’t know, I don’t think so but it all depends on how disappointed I will be with the Forge..
I’m thinking about it.
Have to give it more play time to be sure; but considering I don’t really like the current classes all that much … it’s a fair bet.

I’ve only played a couple of hours of the Revenant, but I have to say I’m very pleased with the class. I particularly like that it offers swift gameplay, not only with all the teleports, but in a more fundamental way, with the ability to swap weapons and legends “orthogonally”, allowing many fighting tactics. I’ve been enjoying myself a lot, so I offer my enthusiastic thanks to the people behind the design of the class. Cheers.
