Revenant fun?
It is fun while you level up, ironically it feels like it stops being fun once you get the elite spec. I was a Revenant Main for some time, but after playing the Daredevil, Berserker and Druid, everything else feels much more dynamic, as the Herald gameplay is entirely based on passively sustaining buffs, and try to play anything else like Condition Mace and you’ll get kicked.
Sadly it’s a fun class locked into a very poor variety of “viable” (according to the laughably strict meta) options that make you quite dull after a while.
Fun is very subjective, and depends on the game mode/style of play, I recently picked up Rev for WvW small group roaming and I have a blast until I run into the small group running all Condi builds then it’s a bad time.
I find rev super fun in WvW/sPvP, but it’s pretty bland in PvE.
I wanted to play Rev so bad when HoT came out, because of the massive weapon pool and skill swapping it takes, but then I found out that auto attack is its best DPS option? That kind of killed my hype for Rev. I played a lot of Thief and was looking for a change of pace. I haven’t unlocked all of Herald yet so I don’t know what that experience is going to be like.
I am still waiting for a ventari buff. I really love playing ventari even in this situation, combined with glint or jalis (depending on the team/situation). Rev is cool and fun, but limited in many ways. If you can accept the fact that sometimes there is nothing you can do against certain events, it would be very entertaining.
Pros:
- no rotation, so noob friendly
- good fury, swiftness and protection uptime
- there are no bad weapons, because there is nothing to compare
- great for gathering, JP and doing your daily stuff because of the perma fury and swiftness
- not the worst DPS, yet…
- can sometimes ignore instakill mechanics with glints heal
- bugs can make you laugh, sometimes
Cons:
- no rotation, so extremely bland
- no variety in weapons
- no variety in traits/utilities
- no racial utilities (seriously anet, why?!)
- no build variety
- jack of all trades, and sucking at all of them
- barely any condi removal
- still an unfinished class
- gets nerfed every patch
- no facet of quickness
- not allowed in raids, except MAYBE escort
- bugs still present since day 1 (just make sword 3 remove confusion and you fixed 1 bug already. it’s not that hard)
And still, I always find myself playing my rev in PvE. I once made the rev my main and altough I want to switch back to guard, I can’t. Probably lack of perma swiftness/fury. I don’t WvW or PvP with my rev, but looking at other threads should give you a general idea what the rev lacks.

A Facet for Quickness would be stupid broken….. the Shiro skill is good just needs to have the upkeep lowered.
It’s fun for solo content since it’s very self-sufficient and can get around the map quickly.
However, it seems like every balance update as taken away something. I get it, they had to have it OP at launch so that people would want HoT, but I really do think they’ve gone too far.

Arena Net disagrees with you.
I gain fun from listening to the wounded old lady they thrust into the sound room to voice Glint.
Wait…that’s not fun at all. Well it’s still fun pulling Shiro fresh from the angry shower he took after eating a metric ton of Ramens off of his harem of K-pop girls.
