Something said about this? Still wondering how it will be the personal story of rev chars, cause it should be way different than the current one

they are meaning the fact that it is imposible for the player to be a revenant during the personal story.

rytlock is the first revenant, and he only appears in HoT, so logically it’s impossible for a revenant to be the commander of the pact, because rytlock hadn’t returned(or even vanished) at that point.

it gets even wierder as a charr, since you actually interact with rytlock before he becomes a revenant, resulting in a charr revenant being a revenant before the first revenant.

as for the OP: we still don’t know yet, I’m going with the assumption that all PS and LS2 stuff happened as a different class, and you are just going back over it as a sort of “if I had my revenant skills then, I’d have done this” flashback deal.

My Asura Revenant invented a flux capacitor and created a time machine he envisioned from the Eternal Alchemy. Combining the use of tears and folds of the mists his revenant skills can create , he can enter the space/time continuum and travel back in time.

i always tell this “Doctor who”-ish story. Here’s a TLDR:

• Rytlock trains you in the mists
• Sends you back in time before personal story (possible)
• You have a NDA about his identity until HoT to avoid temporal crashes

Seeing how the year IS 1328 AE. That means the personal story takes place IN THE PAST. So when you do the personal story, your character is more or less in a flashback. So you can just imagine your character was a different profession up until now. You still are the commander of the pact at this time.

Where does it say Rytlock is the first Revenant, again?

Essentially there’s zero changes to story if you’re a Revenant that I could tell. For example Rox still asks Rytlock what’s that “new” magic is even if you were also a Revenant during the first story during BWE. Just how it is.

Your first choice is pretend some kinda reason of why it happened like Linfang. Asuras going with technological time travel. Norn going with connection to mists. All that kinda stuff. Most elaborate thing I’ve read on the forums to date was someone used an Identity Repair kit to change their existing character (name and look) then when they do their Revenant they get their old name and old look and thus they “changed” classes like Rytlock.

Personally I’m going with the same thing as most people and just not going to think about it. Considering we have no race effectively (no racials), it would have been nice if there was a Revenant only start instead of the racial starts but effort and time and truthfully in 2-3 years from now again it’s doubtful it’ll even be an issue.
