Revenants are spoiled kids
Well i agree with you. I find myself the revenant perfectly fine for now, just need some adjustments and fix but there is too many people asking for more and more. Sometimes you need to adapt and be happy with what you have and i’m myself pretty happy with revenant now, i don’t need it to be the most op and cool class in the world to love it. Ritualistic lore, smooth gameplay, some unique mecanic and that’s all.
I would very much like some more cool things.
Just because your Daddy doesn’t love you, it doesn’t mean you get to bully us.
roy might be a genius dev but he’s DEFENETLY isnt working on the revenant alone every thing new number new word that is been addded to the game is going thru a few people 1 not person
If roy had given us everything we wanted he would have to give us
The “Do-What-The-Hell-I-Want Elite Spec”
You need to keep in mind conditions crush us at the moment. The class is overall very well balanced at the moment. Yes with glint we are very strong, but at a cost of upkeeps on energy. Like any class if it is played well it will shine.
ok stay jelly m8
The only things Roy has outright “sure sugar have it your way” ‘d have been weapon swap, which was already been thoroughly discussed internally, and the dodge roll animation which was pretty much a simple cosmetic change.
If you think we’re spoiled better not talk about all the things warrior got since launch cause Hugh couldn’t win matches with his favorite class
I understand someone might feel his jimmies rustled, i myself am still a bit preoccupied since currently I main an engi. But we are far from being the class that gets everything…i won’t say names but we all know
About being spoiled….yes…but inly about the fantastic feedback we give/have from Roy and I really hope every other class gets some
Wat r u, casul?
Shouldn’t profession balance be a collective effort of many devs, so they aren’t developed in vacuum?
It is. They work on balance changes as a team (Roy, Robert, Karl, etc.)
Just because Roy is more transparent with his actions than other Devs doesn’t mean they’re not doing their job right on other professions. Not everyone likes being that open for discussions. Keep in mind that many professions have very established communities already and going into balance/change discussions with them might even backfire at you.
Revenant is a brand new profession and it means that a lot of stuff can still be changed, added, tweaked before the release and that can be major things. Changing things that people got used to on original professions is unpredictable – some players may like it, majority can hate you for change – See Corruptions and Consume Conditions for Necromancer after balance patch.
Finally, Revenant is part of product they sell – Heart of Thorns. Of course they want it to look amazing, have cool effects and be viable because many may buy the xpac just because they want to play Revenant. If you were to sell a brand new product, would you like it to grab attention like Lamborghini Aventador or look like Fiat Multipla?

Except, y’know, if you spec to deal with them.

There is a balance team? PvP says hi.
Most of the threads here are “Gimme more cool things”
And their daddy Roy is like “Sure darling, you want anything else?”
Yeah, as a thief/ranger I’m jelly.
Come to the Revenant side… we have cool things…

It’s just worrying that the fate of a professions depends on one person. If he’s passionate about it, then it’s great, if not (and not even communicating) – classes get abandoned. Shouldn’t profession balance be a collective effort of many devs, so they aren’t developed in vacuum?
It’s funny that you mention the thief. Karl McLain seems to be the main dev for the thief, and his lack of imagination is just painful. Just look at two of the elite specs he was responsible for: the Tempest and the Daredevil.
The Tempest tries to force a useless class mechanic on the ele and gives it a substitute for the auramancer signet build that was recently taken away.
The Daredevil reintroduces a fresh, un-nerfed Acrobatics line to the thief, only now with new dodges that are laggy and clunky, because they activate as if they were leap skills.
Both reintroduce one playstyle that was purposefully taken away/nerfed earlier and introduce one broken class mechanic.
Simply put, you can’t have nice things because your main dev is just incapable. Roy is far more capable, which might actually be why he was put in charge of the Revenant, and Karl wasn’t.

Does it occur to you that your “daddy” has disability in balancing and listening to players instead? Just what kind of human being are you to vent your own frustration by mocking and try to drag others down to your level so that you feel better? Shouldn’t your time being more well-spent on having conversation with your derv team? “oh but they don’t listen” you might say. Well, then it’s your d—ed problem, not ours, why going to another class forum and mocking constructive talks of others when you don’t get the same bi-lateral talk. Scram this instance, sit in that corner and reflect on your own actions before I allow you to talk!

Us: Rev has no condi cleanse
Roy: can’t have everything
So we are not that spoiled. Our dad knows when to say no.

Thats game balance wise.
Weapon swap was needed yes, but a game balance decision.
All the “I want a fluffy dodge” “Work on this animation please” is what makes you spoiled.
As a necromancer I just have to say how forward I’m looking to turning all that resistance into chill for my reaper….and yes, revs are VERY vulnerable to Condis.
The only thing I’m worried about is the fact unrelenting assault is just one big evade for them. And also op, keep in mind this is the newest profession and one that is being developed in beta so changes are far easier to make and push throw, but harder to test in a live environment.

Rev could have probably get more condition cleanse if some people didn’t ask for weapon swap desperately
I think OP is spoiled.
Why?
Because he wants same attention for an existing class as that for a NEW class.
It’s basic design 101 to know that new class will get the most attention in order to get it right because later on changes won’t be this big and frequent.
PS
all devs work on balance (because apparently you did not read their posts saying so)

Nope because that was his designed weakness from the start.

I wasn’t going to make a comment on this nonsensical thead because the same attention was given to the other classes at their beta entries. Complaints like this and Halan are just ridiculous. However, as one who ASKED, not demanded as you indicated, for dodge fluff, I take a bit offense to this. How is asking for something on a class that’s being developed considered spoiled? That makes no sense.
You and Halan need to stop being green eyed monsters. Your class had beta treatment 3 years ago. It’s time for Revenants to have a turn now. Run along and play nice with the other children.
About the OP, I already kicked his behind badly in the previous post. lets just move on to a different issue and pay no further attention to troll threads like these. Thread closed.

I think you’re confusing suggestions/feedback and requests.
Also I believe that what Roy is doing is correct under every aspect. You can’t blame somebody doing a proper job because other people aren’t.
Kai, ignore them. You had a great suggestion and Roy had the good sense to recognize a great idea when he heard it. I hope you take pride in having a bit of influence on making the Revenant the class it is.
