Revenants need more survivability
Making our only survivability to be immune, would ruin us for SPvP defense.
It’s true however that rev has low survivability. Even in pve
I couldn’t kill the veteran giant outsie fort caer (first WP in Cursed Shore, Orr). Even with the two healing skills. Yeah of course I didn’t know all the skills that well, but there was lack of block, vigor, damage prevention etc. It just feels super weak and it was mainly due to the horrible damage output. Yeah it is not damage themed, but even then I expect to kill this ridiculous giant faster.

If I had to guess It comes down to your lack of skill I’m sorry to say, Revenant is NOT an easy class to play, I had no problems with survivability, at least compared to most of the other classes anyway, so I’m not exactly sure what you guys are doing wrong…
If you are comparing it to guardian, guardian is built for survivability so the comparison is kind of pointless
I didn’t have trouble surviving on the Revenant. Just used my usual playstyle, constant movement and keeping an eye on my environment, CD’s/hp and survived. But, since the Rev does need some tweaking anyway, more buffs wouldn’t hurt and tweak the Mallyx legend, it’s supposed to send out any conditions you have to your enemy but sometimes it did, and sometimes it didn’t lol. The class is heavy armored so survivability shouldn’t be too much of an issue, maybe just change up your playstyle a bit. Rev is a challenging profession but don’t give up on learning it, that just means you have to get out of your comfort zone and try something new when in battle.

And Jalis+Ventari with staff is build for what? Dps? Ok. I dont have more questions if you think that guardian with zerk amulet should have better survivability than 2 sets of utilities with weapon+cleric/soldier amulet.
give necro cleric/soldier amulet and it still has inferior surviability than a zerk guardian. it’s just how the game works, you can’t give one class stealth blocks invul ports vigor evades with a decent sized HP pool and high aegis uptime unless we’re talking about mesmer.

Necros can actually be quite tanky if build for it while still dishing out decent damage. And the stuff you mentioned is something rev has no access to at all.
Also rev needs decent sustain if he has to be in melee 100% of the time.

Also lets not forget that revenant has some evades and a riposte (block into an immob) in its kit.

I have been playing around with the skill calculator on Dulfy.
A mixture of Jallis, Shiro & invocation looks like it will have quite a bit of survivability & damage.
This is especially true now that weapon swap has been added. (imagine Shiro life steals with the staff’s healing for sustain)
So could some of the heals be better? Yes
Could it have a bit better condition removal outside of Malix stance ? Yes.
That being said it’s not released yet and the fact weapon swap was added shows changes can still be made.

Having played necro with both settler & cleric amulets I can say that necro can have insane survivability if geared right.
The only place it falls short is when focused by multiple (3+) Intelligent enemies & that is something that cannot be changed short of completely redesigning how shroud and life force work.
