Revs Squichy?
Hey guys, I’ve been playing rev for a few days, and I die like at least once every quest..even relying on Shiro’s healing crystals im still taking lots of damage..Im level 20 so far but I dont die that much on my Necro =(
Same problem I had coming from rev to necro, the shiro heal should only ever be used with unrelenting assault to help guarantee that you’ll get healed, or as a direct damage buff. Mallyx heal is also pretty decent and will help you manage conditions. So try mallyx/shiro rev until you get herald as it has the best heal I think.
Also don’t think like a normal necromancer player, rev is a combination of knowing when you can tank, have to evade and managing your resources while necro has deathshroud to help it cope with damage. You’re just not used to not having a second health bar you can use to help soak up damage, you’ll get used to it.
Rev has a lot of blocks/evades to midigate damage. It also has a lot of offensive potential, despite what the forums say. Don’t use sword rn, its bugged and doesn’t scale up so keep that in mind. With shiro you want to play it more like a hit and run class. Burst and run, your heal also does a fair amount of damage and be very, very careful of enemies with reflect skills cause they can reflect your heal.
revenant – Hoogles Von Boogles
Mesmer – hoogelz
your heal also does a fair amount of damage and be very, very careful of enemies with reflect skills cause they can reflect your heal.
The irony..
My best advice is to slot Jalis and upkeep vengeful hammers (keep in mind they deactivate on uneven terrain, near walls etc) and Mallyx as secondary for another reliable heal.
Aha and like above, dont use sword 2 and 3 ability. They are bugged and deals much lower than intended damage. And generally speaking they are kitten vs group of mobs so either way your best bet is to autoatk.
Playing Smite since mid s2, f broken gw2.

Seems Staff may almost be replacing sword now.
You need to use the crystals early in a fight rather than as an emergency heal, and if you do need to emergency heal, swap.
From my observation, too, heals tend to be less effective relative to maximum health at lower levels. Which seems a bit turned around, since people with new characters really should be given more margin for error rather than less when in level-appropriate areas, but that seems to be how it is.
People don’t hate Scarlet like Game of Thrones fans hate Joffrey.
They hate her the way Star Wars fans hate Jar Jar Binks.
Rev heals are hard to use well, they can work as well as any class but you need to time them right.
Equip Hammer, use Shiro/Jalis for leveling up and never look back.
Shiro provides plenty of mobility to keep the kiting up forever with a ranged weapon.
Use Jalis for those ‘getting swarmed’ with AoE hammers, travel blasting the lightning road for perma-swiftness and as a secondary heal/condition clear.
Ignore Ventari and Mallyx unless you really feel bored and have the gear to support.
Glint line/shield access changes a lot of the class (way more than any other specialization line of any other class except maybe Mesmer/Chrono) so don’t lose hope.
Seems Staff may almost be replacing sword now.
Staff is a better weapon IMO, even more so when sword + Shield both got nerfed
In your backline: Elementalist+Mesmer+Necromancer
