S/S Revenant in pve?
Players look at damage, cd, cc and deffensive skills. The f you want full dps then axe s better. Otherwise go sword for keeping healers away fom the team or for uncapping points.
I would think a large part of of-hand sword’s allure would be the solid, mobile block and it’s pull effect on Sword 5 that makes it a strong contender in PvE. Some solid defense without rooting you in place, and decent bar breaking without having to crutch one’s self with a staff.

He said PvE.
Tbh, Im not crazy about s/s for pve. The pull is annoying in that even if your target cant be displaced, YOU get displaced so you have to run back over. Axe 5 is more useful for breakbars as it doesnt displace you, and does better damage/applies torment/aoe cc. Axe 4 gives you a dash outside of shiro which is useful if your targets move. There arent many things in the game that you NEED the block skill on sword that you cant already dodge.
All in all, I find axe offhand to be superior to sword offhand.
Thats just me though I run s/a glint/shiro full zerk, pretty standard stuff.
As a defensive skill, you can use SW#5 in at least three different purposes.
1. Take the mob out of AoE and continue the combat.
2. Interrupt
3. Disengage as ‘Phase retreat’ in Mesmer or ‘Burning retreat’ in Elementalist
To me axe is more for offensive and CC purposes.
So I can just go S/S in dungeons? without people getting mad at me for choosing the ‘wrong weapon’
Also, when going dual sword is it better to take Ferocious strikes? (https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Ferocious_Strikes_ )
or Vicious Lancerations? (https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Vicious_Lacerations )
Youll be fine with s/s.
Ferocious strikes gives 150 ferocity, which is nothing compared to 10% damage from Vicious Lacerations
