Staff/Jalis - Push/Path Combo??
you wont be able to sync them
Aftercast on Inspiring Reinforcement makes it impossible.

Sorry if I’m a noob, but what do you mean by aftercast? When I do it the path hits at least twice once when I put it down and once again at the very end after surge is done. I just can’t decifer all the numbers in between.

Aftercast is a period of time after the skill has gone off, but you are locked out of starting a new skill. Typically, this is for smoothing animations out, though there are some skills in the game where the aftercast is not the full length of the animation (Gravedigger is a notable example).
Basically, once you finish casting Inspiring Reinforcement, there is a short period (I believe it’s about .3 seconds) before you can start the cast of Surge of the Mists. That delay ends up making it impossible to combo them as you hoped.

Sorry, but I just tried it and that’s not true. I can use Surge almost immediately after IR. My character (and therefore the enemy I push) remains at the edge of the path.
Edit: In fact, I can dash in front of it. It’s seeming to me it’s less of a factor of being able to…it just may be difficult to time and aim it perfectly to get good/worthwhile results.
But no way is it impossible, from what I gather by basic sense in playing.
Random thought though, Staff does have a whirl finisher for vulnerability stacking and a blast finisher if you need to provide swiftness along with that stability.

You can also get multiple blast impacts with mace 3 for Swiftness stacks on that road if you’re into that, too.
I think the only issue with that combo is that the road forms so slowly and both it and staff 5 are pretty energy intensive for….not so exceptional damage in return.
Check your combat log while you’re doing it. I did, and noticed I think 3 hits of inspiring reinforcement. So yes, it will help the road to hit multiple times. Is it worth making a big play for (given the energy and opportunity cost), probably not.
