Staff Skills
Staff is not rly nice, it does not enough dmg to be really viable at all.
It´s a niche weapon not more.
It’s an interrupt that does good damage. I think however they need to slightly reduce staff 2’s cast time even at the cost of a slight damage nerf which would still be a net damage buff in practice since it would hit more reliably and be less unwieldy.
Dont forget that staff is healer weapon too.
Staff 2 chain (debilitating slam) has a daze that hit sup to 3 targets. If they didn’t add that higher energy cost they’d need to make the recharge higher.
In your backline: Elementalist+Mesmer+Necromancer
Make #2.1 a burst skill. Add the daze of #2.2 to #5. Increase Damage of #3 and #1.3
Staff doesnt go well with the Venatari legend it was built for.
The energy cost is too high. I mentioned this in beta.
The effects are too weak to offset the price.
I leveled all the way to 80 with staff and Ventari. I thought it worked well, though the damage was a little low. You just have to manage your energy carefully.

you try it in PvP?
Heh, #2 was a cool idea on paper, but GW2 combat after Specialization patch became quite ridiculous, so cool ideas that require timing don’t apply anymore.
Plain daze skill with no flip-over, applying Weakness if hit foe is Blinded. 5s CD, 5 Energy.
Has synergy with Salvation and within weapon itself. Done.

Problem i have with staff is too high cd’s. All other weapons except shield for obvious reason has much lower cd’s with 15s being top. Staff 2 doesnt work quite well either as it takes too long to cast and too much energy for daze strike.
Playing Smite since mid s2, f broken gw2.

Why the adorable baby kittens would I take a healing spec into PvP in this game? That would not be a very smart plan at all.
The only thing I could think to do with it is use it as a bunker or for bunker support. If you really use everything it has, you might get more out of it for blasting people out of capture points or annoying sniping/mortar positions with Energy Expulsion. By that point, though, I would definitely trait it out as more of a support tool with Nourishung Roots and Momentary Pacification. I mean, people wouldn’t EXPECT it?
Normally I just assume that not all skills and builds are made solely for PvP.

Did you really play any PvP during this season at all? It fills the same niche auramancing tempest does while being weaker to condis but with more active defenses and CC.
