As the title says i can’t help but wonder which heal skill Revenant will start with, and on the same note which legends they start with. A solution would be to make it one of the choices in the creation process, but that raises another problem, the fact that the starter heal skill isn’t displayed in the training tab.

In general it just annoys me that your starter heal skill doesn’t appear in the training tab, in cases where the skill belongs to a skill type, e.g. “We heal as one!” is a shout but doesn’t appear in the tab, but this is a minor concern.

Other concerns are the cost balancing on the revenant, since it will have less slot skills in general(20 different skills in core profession), And the lack of a fifth skill type training tab.

I’m pretty sure the starting legend will be Jalis. He’s got a very simple Heal Skill that will be good while playing as a low level to clear both conditions and recover HP. Plus being the tanky spec, new players will be able to use him to survive longer in PVE scenarios while they are levelling. Plus he’s not evil and fits the Hero category better than any other legend.

Another issue would be that you have to unlock legend swap, so you would fell forced to upgrade Jalis to get utilities, instead of gettin the heal on another legend and a utility

If you’re levelling though, it’s not a big deal. I can wait a couple dozen levels to get Shiro. After all, once you’re 80 you’ll have everything unlocked anyway. Plus Shiro isn’t even good until you’ve unlocked his lifesteal traits. If anything, you’ll get Jalis first, then Mallyx which I think is good for pve levelling. Both their heals are really good and getting resistance on Mallyx only requires the first minor trait.

Probably just Jalis, as said, but it’d be neat if Revenants got an additional class-only page at the start that said something like “While in the mists, I was most affiliated with ____.” with the 4 base legend options. Probably not likely, but wouldn’t be a bad gesture.

Jalis or Shiro seem like a obvious choice, they’re rather straight-foward. Mallyx and Ventari are a little bit more complex.

I’d also vote for Mace as starting weapon. It has so many Blast Finishers and Fire fields that new players rolling it will quickly get the basic idea of combos.

At the risk of sounding cynical, I wonder how much though the devs have given to this. Most of the veteran players I know are considering using Tomes of Knowledge to take their revenant instantly to level 80 so for them this likely won’t be an issue.

I will admit though I am curious about what leveling a revenant will be like for new (or newer) players who can not take it to level 80 instantly. I like the idea that revenants could have the option of choosing a legend that they “affiliated most with” while in the mists and receive that legends heal skill at the beginning of the game, but I doubt that this will actually implemented.

Personally I agree with many of the other people in the thread that Mallyx and Jalis are the most likely to be given as the initial heal skill. The Ventari heal has to be continually moved by the player and loses a lot of its versatility without the traits and the other utility skills. As for the Shiro heal personally I don’t think it is the best heal to give to new players right off the bat since the skill is healing based on the next few attacks rather than an instantaneous heal like Mallyx and Jalis.

As for starting weapons I like the idea of giving them either sword or mace, I have never been crazy about starting a class with a two handed weapon.

Sounds like the best one to start with. The heal was straight forward and not as hard to learn as other legends. Shiro’s heal would stir new players away from the rev if it was our starter heal, Ventari would be tricky just because we would have new players having to deal with dragging the tablet around, and mallyx would be crippling without having a build to help take the weakness for you to your enemy or just being able to cleanse it. The one with Jalis has the largest base heal and would end up being a really good way to introduce the rev to players later on down the line I like how that is the first one we will be getting for those reasons. It makes sense.
