We already had several Threads with „can we get early access?“ , “pls give us Revenant”, etc.

This one offers a Suggestion for the final BWE that will come after this one.

For the BWE3 Period only, make it possible to create a Revenant in a non Beta Slot (for Prepurchasers). If you create a Revenant this way, you won’t be instant 80 and won’t get any fancy exotic chests, you are basically naked Level 1 like every other fresh Toon.

The “Live” Revenants will act exactly like all other Profession during the BWE, which means that the Elite Specialisation is locked until HoT launches. If you want to go to Verdant Brink or check out the Herald, you can always switch to your BETA Revenant.

This way, everyone can play like they want, and the Revenants can prepare for the HoT Launch with a 3 day period to catch up to the rest of the Playerbase. You have the choice to either prepare your Revenant or play your favorite Elite Spec in the Beta Slots. After the end of the BWE3, the “Live” Revenant will be locked and unusable until HoT Launch.

I think this solution will minimize the complaints of the other people screaming: “If you get your Revenant early, I want to play my Reaper aswell!” The obvious difference between Revenant and everyone else is: everyone else can farm extra Hero Points for their Elite Specs now, Revenants can not.

This is the best and in my eyes fairest solution I could come up with to please the Revenants and not let the others feel screwed over. If A-Net has the actual Tech to make it possible and how much work it might be, I don’t know, but giving ideas and making suggestions is always better than blindly demanding everything “right now” (nothing against all that other “Early Access”-Threads).

So Roy, I know you will read this sooner or later because you are very active on the Revenant Forum. This is no entitled “Give me Rev or I quit!” Thread and it is not the end of the world if I can only play a real Revenant at the 23rd Oct. It might be exhausting to read the 500th Thread about the same topic but we love the Revenant as much as you do (at least some of us) and it just would be awesome to catch up to the rest of Tyria without feeling to rush everything to not be spoiled by people already in the Jungle with their non Revenants.

Maybe you have already something like this planned and simply can’t talk about those plans, but even if not, we will still love you for what you have created with the Revenant ?

Betas are for testing and feedback, not jumping ahead.

I know, and you can still test and give Feedback. You can give even more Feedback if you start your Revenant from scratch instead of having a Level 80 handed to you with 500 exotic Items. And you won’t find a bug in the Personal Story with a Revenant of any Race if you don’t play that certain Personal Story (maybe you can already play the PS with BETA Chars, have not tested it the last time).

The Beta Chars are on the Live Server, so it makes no difference if you play with a BETA or Live Revenant (considering Feedback). Yes, Live Revenant can not give Feedback on Verdant Brink or the Herald, just like all the other Beta Testers that don’t go to Verdant Brink or don’t play a Herald.

There is no better Test than playing like you would if it wasn’t a BETA. Many People don’t bother with Dungeons/Fractals or whatever because they are not allowed to keep the Rewards. Live Revenants could keep those Rewards and thus are more likely to be taken to those places and might discover some imbalances or broken things regarding Revenants there.

If the rev gets a headstart it should be 3 days before launch. This is an entire new class, we need as much 80 testing as possible.

You can do that every single BWE including the Preview Weekend. Noone stops you from creating a BETA Revenant and run around the World with your free Exotics. Or use your Tomes during this BWE to put your Live Revenant to Level 80, like you would do anyway during the Headstart.

The only difference between BWE3 and Headstart is, a Headstart leaves out everyone else, while activating Revenant for BWE3 leaves out noone because they are all busy playing around with the new shiny Toys called Druid and Forge.

I’m really exciting to play a main rev too but just wait the extension is finished and polished! I already think 23 october is a marketing date for don’t let us wait too much, i think now arenastaff must work at 100% to have the stuff finished for the 23/10. Moreover, why only revenant in this case? You don’t think it’s a little unfair to have only the revenant availible before the realease of the expansion? And the class specialization? Those who want to play their class have to wait the date and those who want to play revenant don’t? Just think about it it’s unfair! Think too that, if revenant has early acces there just are going to have only revenant everywhere, when, if it’s realeased in the same time that specialization it balance a little the class population.

For BW3 we’re going to have misty dodge and ajustments.

It is not unfair when it happenes during the BWE. During the BWE you can all play your new Elite Specs with BETA Chars. YOU can already collect Hero Points for YOUR Elite Spec right now with your Character. A Revenant can NOT collect Hero Points for the Herald, because the Revenant is not playable yet.

And read carefully, I said Revenant playable during the BWE, Herald will still be locked behind the HoT Launch.

But you are right, it is totally unfair for the other Professions if the Revenant is able to catch up for three days and collect Hero Points for his Elite Spec like everyone else is right now.
