Suggestion for Glint Heal
I agree. It’s great survivability, but if you compare to Warrior’s Defiant Stance, the Glint heal is better in every way.
Because it is instant cast, I have been able to frequently use this while being mobbed (just by 2-3 people in PvP) and still end up with full health at the end. It’s not always l2p on the part of my enemies either – someone may lay down AoE fields or load me up with conditions and then they can’t stop the healing even if they wanted to. This skill would be even more nuts in WvW. I think it really just needs a cast time similar to other heals, then it will be fine.
Astaxanthas (Revenant), Hepaticus (Engineer), Eosinophus (Thief)
I agree it’s better then ‘Warrior’s Defiant Stance’, but lets not forget a warrior has access to multiple invulns, blocks, shout heals, banner heals, lots of condi cleanses and stun breaks. Currently rev has a few of those…. yes i agree its a very good heal but it’s kind of needed for the lack of everything else they have.
Maybe increasing base heal and invert 33% incoming damage into heal? At least, even if you can manage to stand in enemy AoEs, you will not heal your entire life unless the enemy keeps focusing you the entire 4s
No. This part of Revenant doesn’t need any changes, maybe just add a little dragon-like animation indicator. Core functionality is good.
You’re right that it’s better than Warrior’s Defiant Stance. Which doesn’t say much, because you won’t see Warrior using that skill outside of a zerg or couple PvE encounters. They’re still using HealSig everywhere. They can switch their heal anytime. We’re stuck with that one. If our foes learn how to counter it or we use it in wrong time, we’re in trouble.
We also lack condition removal and this compensates it a bit. Warrior has currently tons of condition removal.
You can’t really compare skills across the professions. It’s very strong situational heal, but I’ve already seen people being aware of this skill’s existence. They know for sure that if you run Glint all they have to do is just bait it and then they can burst.
People don’t know how do Revenants work, don’t know their skills yet, don’t know capabilities and weaknesses. This skill is like classic definition of “L2P”.

just give the revenant an aura, like torch 4 on guardian to indicate that the heal is active. if you give it a casting time you can basically delete herald because it will be useless.
Let’s be honest here.
I don’t think you really want us to do that. A visual indicator would be fine. Aside from that, it’s fine as is.
glints heaing skill is what makes me immortal, no way its changing
The comments in this thread make me glad that you guys don’t balance. So much “no way you nerf the broken stuff I play right now”:
“I rather have them nerf the heal instead of opening my eyes and paying a bit of attention.”
looks like a l2p issue.
everything else can be fixed by tuning down damage)

And I’m glad that you don’t, because I don’t want a fun profession to use in PvE to get ruined because of people that can’t be bothered to figure out how to counter It in pvp.
Ye right. Except it is no animation. I want to see you tell your team to stop the burst in time. We talk about instant 4 seconds here. Worst case you run in some cleave.
Your comment just shows that you don’t get why this is too good.

That’s wrong.
An icon for the infuse light skill will appear on their bar when they use it. That’s is more than enough of a tell to see the heal.
And let’s not forget that this skill is literally the revenants only true form of active defense that works to let it survive focus fire. If you need that heal, you end up having something as easy to focus s a neceromancer, but without the second health bar that lets it actually tank.

And I’m totally in favor of adding a prominent visual to it. To be really effective, this heal takes timing, especially in PvP. A smart player will try and bait a Revenant opponent into using their heal before unloading on them. and if you’re in a group, if everyone unloads an alpha-strike on a revenant at the same time and they counter it, kudos to them.
You know, I really liked the other thread about Sword 3, where the guy asked “how do you counter this?” rather than complaining about how broken a skill was. Then we can have a productive conversation.

This doesn’t need any changes.
Revenant heal is similar to warrior with an extra second, but the class is much more restricted in completely different ways. A smaller health pool is one of them, no access without channeling Glint is another.
Holy hell, the class doesn’t even exist yet in the real game and already we have people referring to it in the first person. You are not the thing you play.
Yes, it is a superior version of Defiant Stance, but as others have pointed out if the two are side-by-side in a WvW group and both need to invuln/heal/get out of trouble, the Warrior’s got a traited (if not slotted) Endure Pain, a leap that removes immob, and in desperation its own instant stunbreak stability to guarantee the cast. Revenant’s got the heal. A Warrior can still die before that 3/4s cast completes, but it’s not a straight comparison between skills.
That said, I’d also be in favor of a visual cue. Certainly, many learn to scan enemy buff bars for significant icons, but in a game where, unless I am mistaken, developers have said they want players watching the battlefield more than cooldowns and symbols, on-character indicators that don’t become visually overwhelming are not out of line. Sure, we can keep an eye out for the scribbly Shelter icon, but a little flash of light could help.
I would also point out that while bringing an enemy Revenant back to full health is obviously not great, we’re talking about a class that has jack all in the face of focus outside of this, the dubious Shield 5, and a couple other minor tricks. If it’s really 4 on 1, just keep swinging and the poor slob will shortly be dead. It’s a nice skill, but it’s far from game-breaking.
