Theorycrafting Shiro/Glint revised
Why is everyone always picking Runes of Rage? Wouldn’t Scholar be better? You already have perma fury with Glint and you get 10% modifier from Scholar instead of 5%. You don’t see Rangers running Runes of Rage when they have perma fury, they go for the Scholar ones too.

Rune of rage is to achieve perma fury.
Having perma fury on Glint means 50% uptime (at least if you don’t plan to stay on glint all the time, which is a bad idea). With rune of rage you just need 10 seconds in Glint to stack enough fury to keep it permanently in the other stance, even if you pick cleansing channel. You also get pretty decent fury (or permanent fury with the other trait on healing) if you don’t have Glint at all.
Also permanent 5% damage is pretty good. Scholar runes require full health, I never liked it, because you lose dps when you need it most.

Runes of Rage also gives us lots of lovely ferocity. More than Scholar anyway.
I have been undecided on which way to go since I played last beta weekend. So I appreciate you posting this build. I think I am going to give it a try this weekend. Looks to be promising, So thank you
Just cant decide between Condi or Power type build : \

When I tried condi last time it felt odd to me. I really enjoyed playing power last beta and am hoping with the changes to sword it will be better this weekend, but I know what you mean about being undecided
I feel like Rev doesn’t have enough condi generation to go full condi. We’ll have to see how the changes for BWE2 make it feel, but in BWE1 I just didn’t feel threatening in a condi build.
Maybe it needed some more condi generation, maybe I’m spoiled by playing condi Engi, maybe a mix of both.

From what I saw when I played it, it’s relying on moving conditions from yourself to your enemy more than actually using the condi generation on your mace/axe. Personally, given how weak the rev was against condis, I was dying a lot more when I attempted the builds I did, but this was in the quick test they gave us before BWE1. I’ve since been tweaking builds close to this one here. I ran full zerker during the last beta and am looking forward to trying the build I just posted here as well as testing the damage they’ve added to sword and seeing what shield will bring but the build and in and of itself, I want to see how viable it really is.
I do agree that compared to the condi generation on a engi or necro, rev is lacking, but it’s not as bad as other classes. It’s just a matter of learning how to use such builds right… (gah, now I want to try making a condi build).
