Tips on Leveling Revenant PvE
1.) Go to PVP and use the Shiro/Glint invocation/devastation/herald meta build.
2.) If you find Rev is ok for you, Use those tomes of Knowledge. Get him to 80 asap.
3.) Use 250 Proof of Heroics (WvW) to fully unlock Herald Traits for PVE or Go to HOT maps and (lol) farm 250 hero points.
4.) With Glint’s F2 Ability, Facet of Elements and Shiro’s impossible Odds, you will be almost as fast as a shortbow, shadowstepping perma swiftness thief.
Thank for that tip!
I was kind of hoping to see if I could get tips on open world exploration leveling but it seems that the revenant isn’t so good with open world leveling until you get glint… so for elite specialization, do they have some sort of special hero points? Just Tyria hero points aren’t enough?
Thanks again!
No, the HoT points give 10 HP’s per challenge, so unless your rev has map completion, its just better to go get HoT points and finish the spec in a few hours.
Use Phase Traversal on some target way off at the edge of your vision. Use axe 4 on ambient creatures or just to engage. About face Riposting Shadows. You move hella fast even without Glint.
Use jalis’ hammers along with auto-attack and sword 2 until depleted, then immediately switch to shiro pop Unrelenting Assualt and heal and just auto-attack until depleted, then switch back to Jalis and Repeat.
Sword as primary is your best weapon with axe offhand. While leveling play around with weapons. I use corruption 3 1 2, Invocation 2 1 1, and Devastation 2 3 1.
I have not ran into anything aside from Champions that have given me difficulty. With that set up you should be able to melt most things fairly quickly with a decent amont of survivablity mixed in. Berserker/power gear is best. Stay in Jalis unless you want a landspeed boost, then use UA with Shiro.
Yeah, yesterday I finally unlocked devastation trait and killing has been easier than before with its DPS boost. 1v1 I am pretty good with Jalis/Shiro combo, but when there are mobs, I die pretty quick because shiro’s heal does not seem to compensate for multiple damage by mobs…
I’ve been using UA with Jalis so that I can use IO for longer with auto-attack. Is there a benefit of using UA with Shiro? This is my rotation: Jalis, Sword 2, UA, Hammer, until Shiro’s available (I usually keep Shiro on for IO travel), then Shiro’s heal, IO & auto, rinse & repeat.
Also, I learned that you can do dwarf’s road and hammer 3 & 5 combo to get swiftness, but as I have to stop every few seconds to keep up the swiftness, I don’t know if it’s worth all that effort… Do you think just Shiro and IO would be faster?
Thanks!
First, I made a mistake with UA. Got it confused with IO. Sorry about that.
So with Shiro IO + ED + Auto should be the main. Shiro’s heal is good for upkeep but not a burst heal, ED+UA if absolutely necessary for a heal otherwise use Jalis to heal.
Jalis is Vengeful hammers + Sword 2 off cooldown + Auto. When fighting in Jalis make sure you have VH up as much as possible as it has a small heal, persistant damage, and provides 40% damage reduction.
Switch stances when out of power and not before.
Unfortuneatly you will not be able to gain perma-swiftness until a ways into the Elite skill. So if you need a burst of speed use IO.
