Leap toward the targeted area, tormenting foes and creating a demonic field that displaces enemies. Apply bonus torment if you have equal or more conditions than the threshold applied to you.

The reason why is because the displacement was too strong. Not the effect itself but the skill was bugged so that aslong as the field was active, nothing no matter how many foes tried to run over it got displaced back.

This means that the pulsing effect was useless because of a bug in the skill. The correct Unyielding Anquish should pulse 1 displacement each second for 4 seconds with a cap of 5 targets.

Example: I put Unyielding Anquish infront of a portal in WvW, enemy zerg could not get in aslong as I kept the fields up because it did not cap the targets. Instead it lined everyone up in one little clump because the skill was bugged. This was broken and I admit it. Unyielding Anquish however should still have the displacement effect on it, as it was my go to skill to stop stomps/rezzes.

TL;DR, Displacement was bugged, uncapped and untimed, did not allow people to run into the field to get torment on them.

Proposed change: displace enemies every 1 or 2 seconds for 4 seconds with a displace on the initial hit. Pulse torment each 1 second for 4 seconds.

REMEMBER!: Roy’s our boy! And if we can give proper feedback on it after the next BWE we might see some of the Mallyx changes reverted!

The displacement was just a weird and kinda buggy mechanic. I honestly like the current change except that a leap of a mere 600 units isn’t something I would call a leap. If this would be 900 it would be so much easier to get and stay with your target as condi rev.

We are all fine the the removal of pulsing displacement. But the current state of the skill is silly, either make it a proper 900 leap or add a kb/fear on land.

Also main complaint on mallyx is Embrace the darkness…

Well ok i’m not fine either but understand it..pulse feat would be the same…the problem is the pulse cc sorta spammable. Put it on land with 5s cd and i’m good

Tought about the same, I like the idea of fear it would fit mallyx very well.
Like a 600 aoe radius pulsing 4 sec of torment (currently sounds really low but we gonna see), and 1 sec pulsing fear in a 400 aoe radius and maybe still chill so you can still hit them while they are running away from you.

With removing displacement they ripped revenants from a defensive usage that could be used to defend yourself and your mates. For example to rezz a downed mate. Or just get the melees of them. This would also work with fear. Maybe not as good since you can use stability against it, but still. (Add a skill fact that it also removes stability, would also remove that problem, but I guess that would be really strong)

The displace also was also little bit conter productive, usually it annoys your mates when using it in PvE. Also you can’t keep damaging with your melee condi set since they are displaced too far away. (HINT: still waiting for ranged condi weapon^^) But this also wouldn’t be a problem with fear anymore.

I really thought the displace was an amazing feature for the Revenant, and it had a lot of good uses, be it in PVE, PVP, or WvW. That being said it was also very broken in some aspects, such as moving immovable enemies, or ignoring stability. I am not very happy about the nerf, but feel like it was needed. I would like to offer a suggestion to add a 2 second fear to up to 5 players at the point the character lands. This would keep some of the uses that players used this for alive, while not breaking the game. EG: disrupting a stealthed thiefs stop, or to dissrupt a zerg blob and scatter people.

Just my 2 cents.
