Valkyrie / Zerk the way to go?
i made these 2 builds using the rolling mist trait for shiro/herald they are similar, the first use valkyrie gear and bersek/valkyrie accesories to reach 82% crit rate (with fury) 214% ferocity, 20.8k hp and 2.6k AP
the second one combines zerk with valkyrie and cavalier gear, different runes to obtain the same stats as above but exanching 300 AP for 800 armor, but compensating the power lost by having enough dmg modifiers to hit 40% more dmg agaisnt targets below 50% hp

Are those meant for PvE, roaming or zerging?

What’s the reason for 42% and 44% crit rate? Why stop at those values? You need at least 52% for 100% crit rate with a warrior using banners or precision food.
also superior rune of rage > superior rune of the eagle, and (but that’s just my opinion) superior rune of str (you only get might from glint, while you get fury from everything, so the +5% damage from rune of rage is achieved with every legend combination and in every game mode).
Of course, I’m talking about pve.

Just noticed you’re also using precision food, so real crit rate is around 36%. Is that a random value?
I also don’t get why soldier and cavalier gear. Soldier lowers your crit damage and cavalier lowers your power (so all your damage types except condi). With heavy armor + shield your armor value is already pretty high, toughness is not needed so much (you start with 300 more armor compared to a reaper).
Isn’t it better to just have 50% crit rate with gear and then get toughness/vitality with power food? Otherwise you’re basically forced to use precision food all the time, while you can use vit/toughness food only when needed.
Look at my power value here (422 more compared to your build):

Its a matter of preference, more dmg (or condicional dmg vía modifiers like I did) or more defense. Yup your build has 422 more power. But mine has 3k more hp and 700 more armor
Btw, yup i had pve in mind when making the build
The critic without food will indeed be around 36%, 76% on fury and around 80% with baners
Its personal preference like I said, I decided to sacrifice that 20% crit in favor of more defense (3k armor and 20.5k hp) because we dont know how hard Hot content will be. All we know from an arenanet response is that runing into a raid geared with full zerker gear as we do now with dungeons will be suicide and will promp us to try different builds
Because of Roiling Mists trait, your precision goes a lot farther but what I found was that mixing in valk and soldiers ment very little. 3-5K or some mix of toughness adds so little to a fight that you might as well just keep all the precision.
What determines the fight is usually on your sword #4 block, evades, and glints inverting heal. If your fighting low life facet of nature or glints elite will give you protection.
Given the high power/ferocity I’m not sure if its better to run sigil of air+fire or air/force or force/bloodlust. Bloodlust full stack will push you to 3000 power but its quiet annoying to get for every new map.
I think Rune of the orge is the best option. We already have ~100% fury uptime with glint, making most of its effects useless. You get more ferocity but lose a lot of power. Rune of scholar is to situational, you almost certainly won’t be above 90% health for most of the fights. The rock dog doesn’t do much but it does randomly make them mis-target if it spawns with good timing.
Because of Roiling Mists trait, your precision goes a lot farther …
Isn’t the opposite of this true? Because Fury gives a Rev +40% crit chance instead of +20% precision isn’t nearly as valuable as it is to other professions. You can skimp on precision when gearing because you’re getting essentially a “free” +20% as long as you take the RM trait which is really the only viable GM choice anyways.
OP: Disclaimer being of course it remains to be seen what the content in HOT will look like… but yes I see using some Valk pieces being the best direct damage setup. Due to the Rev’s weakness to conditions I would favor extra Vitality over extra Toughness if you wanted to be stronger defensively and luckily there is Valkyrie to do exactly that. There is no Valkyrie stat but with Toughness instead, but that works out okay for the Rev I think.
The last thing I played around with on Gw2skills is Valk armor with Zerk weapons/trinkets and Runes of Rage. That seems to be the best combination to me at this point:
Unbuffed:
2400 power
34% crit chance
235% critical damage
19k health
2335 armor
Of course food, Fury, Might, etc all add to that. If the mobs in the BWEs have been any indication I don’t think I want to be sitting at 15k health especially if I don’t really have to give up damage to bump up to near 20k, but it could just be a L2P thing that everyone will be back to Zerkers once they figure out all the expansion content. I hope not, but it’s possible. Time will tell.

You have to consider Spotter. My build with Fury has 85%. +8% from Banner, +7% from Spotter.

Also, 5% damage is less than 175 power you get from power runes.
I think i found the right combination (for my taste) dps/quality of life
with Valkyrie
I use marauder set pieces + zerker jewelry, soo… I guess a mix of a mix?
I have Zerker armor, strength runes, with Valk-Zerker jewelry., all Ascended. I can trade in ring etc to go full dps or toss in toughness for more tanky. I have a good amount of dps, crit, power and health pool.

This combo is what has been working wonders for me too, the damage isn’t far off zerker at all and gives you an extra chunk of health to stay in fights longer. Waiting for the build calculator to be updated with the new stats.
