While I’ve been having a lot of fun with Ventari in WvW and PvE on some of the bosses that large groups seem to be struggling to stay alive with, like Ignus and Aestus, I hate that the entire concept the legend stands upon is with the tablet. Having ranged healing is great, and I’ve gotten some ridiculous numbers from a fully speced healing build, I think having the option to abandon the tablet and gain access to other forms of support would be a great addition and offer some variance the class needs.

I believe people have mentioned the idea before, but what if while the tablet was stowed, you gain access to other skill that aren’t bound to it that do not related to healing and cleansing? Such as damage buffs like Grace of the Land, not exactly the same but similar in that it’s a unique form of support that only revenant can offer.

I know the class has dire needs elsewhere, some nerf reversions and some outright reworks if it’s going to live up to its potential, but if it had something unique to offer to the table that won’t be nerfed into the ground, then maybe it could be a viable choice in the competition of the current meta.

The only thing that bugges me the most on the tablet is the summon and resummoning part. Elite should destroy the tablet and it should be resummoned automatically near the rev. The condicleanse skill should work as a stunbreak to cover that on centaur stance.

The tablet is totally unoffensive. Ventari was a pacifist and thats what ventari playstyle symbolisis.
It could give defensive buffs and reduced condi duration and so on.
The problem with a bound tablet is that it cripples range and it cripples mobility of the support. A bound tablet does not work with its design.

The concept of the tablet and managing it is fine and welcome as it’s different from generic shout support. It lacks polish and can be improved upon, but it’s enjoyable once you get used to it and I’d like it to stay.

Other means of support can be provided by other legends.

+1 This.

It is nice that it is unique. It needs polish i.e. The resummoning removed as i mentioned.

In projectile heavy encounter its a sanctuary of pure joy and has very good sustain.

I thoroughly enjoy playing with Ventari as well. It took some time to get used to and I hated it at first, but it’s certainly unique in the function.

I simply want revenant to be be able to provide something completely unique to a group that would warrant its place in something like a raid meta. I know you can still take a rev, like condi, and still do just fine, but the hyper elite attitude of the PUG raid meta, at least that I’ve seen, won’t take anything but meta stuff despite most not being able to play them properly.

Perhaps if Shiro would stop being such a selfish legend, or be reworked to a state that would fit his role as the intended power dps legend we’d find a bit more wiggle room.

Just my thoughts.

Every legend has its place. Ventari is the healing selfless legend and shiro is an egoistic power legend.
One thing though what i would prefer for the revenant is improvements to its elite spec.
If the F2 would change from legend to legend it could increase the Revs support cappabbilities.

For Ventari it would be more heal based effect.
For shiro power based.
For jalis more defensive oriented.
For mallyx all about condis.

This was suggested several times now and still no changes in sight.

I think before something with F2-per-legend, my favorite approach would instead be to remove it.

Then, add significant and very influential passive effects to just “being in” a presence/legend. The idea being that the “role switching” is more useful, as you got some of the stats and passive need-to-haves covered.
Lastly, remove power from traits accordingly to keep overall power similar.

The big upside would be that instead of further differentiating the legends first, they’d move closer together by allowing you to pick 2 “roles” and swap between them.

Passive gains:

Shiro

  • Power
  • Precision
  • Crits ignore toughness/defenses

Mallyx

  • Condition Damage
  • Condition duration, more if current condition duration is very low.
  • Autoattacks cause Torment, but on a Procs-Per-Minute basis, meaning weapon speed doesn’t matter.

Jalis

  • Toughness
  • Vitality
  • Gain 1 stack of Stability after being CCed.

Ventari

  • Healing Power
  • Autoattacks generate 1 healing orb on a PPM-basis, the same orbs staff AA also generates.
  • Attacks against friendly players (or you) below 25% HP around you have a chance (with a short cooldown) to generate you energy.

Glint

  • Small amount of all stats except Concentration
  • Significant amount of Concentration
  • In a small radius around you, incoming (not outgoing!) boon duration is increased while enemies suffer reduced incoming boon duration.

Intentionally haven’t mentioned numbers because I would have no clue where to place them (it depends a lot on how much power the devs would be willing to remove from traits so they can be added to the legends), but the rough idea is that if I have say, healing gear, and am in Ventari, and I get jumped in WvW on the backline and someone tries to CC me, I can swap to Jalis and be quite decent at facetanking the damage, so long as I am in Jalis legend.
But in turn, comparing other classes, a bigger portion of my healing power I had in Ventari was based on the passive effects of that legend. Meaning I lost a significant portion of healing power despite being specced for it the moment I swapped out.

The same would apply to any other setup. A power DD could swap to Mallyx and be not great, but “ok” at dealing condi damage for a bit. Their power damage output ofc tanks the moment they swap over. These two would be the most difficult to balance as ideally both a DoT DPS swapping to Shiro and a DD DPS swapping to Mallyx would keep their DPS output (as a number), just the composition of said damage would shift significantly.

It’s easier for the Ventari / Jalix / Glint swaps, because those have more specialized intents.

The strength of heart to face oneself has been made manifest. The persona Carighan has appeared.
