Ventari tablet should autosummon and follow
I agree, it should auto summon and follow you.
Yeah I kept losing track of the tablet after a while.
Afterwards I switched legends, because keeping track of this isn’t worth it.
Surprisingly I like the current tablet set up. I don’t want it to auto follow, rather I’d prefer to move it as necessary then stay put.
also of note:
there’s a trait to improve outgoing healing on legend swap…. but the cast time of the tablet plus the activation times gives you even less of a window to make it worth using over an aoe cleanse on dodge, or outright 1s regen from the orbs
i sort of agree with the summon on legend swap, but i disagree that it doesn’t heal much when moved or that it should auto follow
over 800 without healing power/any traits for it is a lot
if it were to act like shouts, then the cooldown would start immediately, which would make it very powerful
right now looking at the numbers without cast time it should heal for 800/2s or 400/s, that’s pretty hefty, more than healing signet, i think, right?
though, there’s also the cast delay along with cooldown starting after the cast rather than when pressed, making it much less effective, and spamming it causes you to lose out on actively attacking, which the main thing in this game
on the auto follow part:
the command to “follow” is not “follow” as you seem to think, it moves it to a targeted location, that’s entirely different
the bubble denying a location of projectiles is perfect for this game and this legendary’s role, and the elite, which…. is a little underwhelming for the knockback, could prove its worth for an area denial effect that they wanted it to be used for in the first place
tldr:
the ground target moving is fine, and i do personally believe the healing as it is now is really good on moving it, just, it needs to be uncapped like other line skills to actually make it worth it, since it moves in a line, and it might make revenants more important for restacks in wvw
it also shouldn’t take so long to move it….since it takes away from your damage
the summon on legend swap is iffy…..
having to summon it prevents instant use heals like Natural Harmony already is, or if they were to have the movement be instant
this also means it can be interrupted, which is important to both sides of the playing field

I’m all for autosummon, but I’d prefer if it didn’t follow you, or at least not close. I like having the ability to position it away from myself to heal allies and CC.
Something I’d really like to see would be when you cast the spells which involve the tablet, they also trigger around you, simultaneously. I think this would shore up some of the problems people seem to be having with the Revenant and would let you make some pretty cool plays, too.
My overarching problem with the Revenant is that everything just takes way to long. Cast times and animations are so vastly in excess of what they should be, especially given the underwhelming effects of most of their abilities. But being able to have the tablet utilities trigger on you would go a long way to alleviate some of the delay. I can’t count the number of times yesterday in PvP that I was getting conditioned or spiked and had to wait for the tablet come over to me before I could cleanse and heal; by then it was much too late. If I can use the abilities on myself without having the tablet around, it would make the class much more survivable.
I was also thinking such a mechanic could enable you to do some pretty unique stuff. If you stayed on top of your tablet game and were able to multitask well enough to keep it close to you, you could reap the rewards of having the tablet utilities trigger twice on you and your nearby allies, one cast centered on you and the other on the tablet. The numbers would almost certainly need to be adjusted for this to be balanced, but I think it would be a fun bonus to reward adroit tablet use. Furthermore, if you were away from your allies, you could move the tablet to them for remote healing without having to give up all of your own personal survivability. You could even support in split-party fights, keeping a group of allies around you for healing and the tablet away to support a different group.
The positioning provides a bit of skill/micro-managing. No need to dumb down the class. There are other classes that are easy to play.

How do u get the ventari tablet up?
i’d rather the devs add other useful skills in with the legend like area swiftness and what not to use when the tablet isn’t active.
autosummon on legend swap
manual summon after destroying elite skill
pls don’t make it follow (we don’t need any more nobrain AI) BUT make the #6 insta cast – this way you can command it WHILE doing all other stuff (also makes space for high skill play)
also look better at Oriana from LoL (probably where the idea come from) it’s also support character but can spec into dps – this is what I would like to see in Ventari – make the skills universal and let the players decide how they want to play it (let the scaling from chosen gear do the work)

I personally enjoy the aspect of managing the tablet’s placement and skills while fighting elsewhere. I think it reminds me a bit of managing spirits on my ritualist in GW1 which was always a lot of fun. However, I do agree that it should autosummon (and perhaps follow until placed) on legend swap because I don’t really see the point of having to swap and THEN summon or have 0 utilities. TBH i can’t really see the point of that mechanic aside from that after you use the elite skill, you need to resummon.
I do sort of think that the heal is somewhat low, as well. I think it’s alright from an outgoing perspective, that it does a decent job helping in a group situation. But it should provide a bit more self heal in the actual heal skill slot, and perhaps not also require placing the tablet again to use that heal. (Elsewhere someone suggested making the other utility skills require placement of the tablet which would take care of moving it, not sure how that well that would work). Even if it still required you to re-place the tablet, it might be nice if it still provided some sort of self healing even if you don’t stand in the path of the tablet. It doesn’t have to be anything huge, just enough to keep you alive if you are fighting outside the range of the tablets’ aoe. Natural Harmony is also a nice heal for a group setting, yet not actually that helpful for your own character. In a sense Ventari has less survivability than the other legends if you’re not standing RIGHT on top of the tablet when you need it.
I have to agree, the tablet needs to auto summon when you envoke the legendary and it should follow you if you get a certain distance away from it. Makes it easier and allows you to focus a bit more on the battle rather than constantly remembering to bring it with you as you move. But, I do love Ventari, great legendary but it does weak heals, really would like to see it heal for a lot more please.
Thanks Anet for the strong work so far! \o

Unlike others in this thread, I like how the tablet operates. It’s a lot of micro management but if you get used to it…it’s really fun to use even if it produces hyper weak heals; I do not want the tablet to auto follow.
However, I do fully support auto summon on switching to ventari though.

i would hate if the tablet fallowed me around if i hit an x range i like leaving it set up on someone to heal them well i do other stuff. its not like there a limit range on pulling the tablet back to you
Legendary Ventar’i Stance:
I agree with the Tablet being auto summoned the moment you switch to Ventari after being in multiple scenarios fighting Warrior’s, Mesmer’s, and Thief’s in PvP that used control skills such as knock backs and interrupts. I didn’t have time to summon the Tablet and by the time I did my health had already dropped too 10% as I started spamming Natural Harmony hoping/waiting for the 2 second duration heal to activate, be knocked out of Natural Harmony’s healing radius before i could receive any of it’s benefits, or be forced to switch back to the original legend that i was previously in like Jalis for a quick heal.
Solution (in my opinion):
-The moment you switch to Ventari you’re automatically healed for the pass-through effect of Ventai’s Will as the skill becomes Project Tranquility.
-Preserve Project Tranquility control effect of physically being able to move the Tablet to your desired location however increase the healing radius from 240 to 300.
-While the flower effects under the Tablet creates great indication of where the healing effects are being applied it disappears the moment the Tablet is moved. I would recommend if a green AoE ring could be created that will ONLY appear as the Tablet is moved to the Revenant players desired location. Only allies will be able to see the green ring.
-Increase the speed of the Tablet by 33%.
-Leave behind healing orbs when the Tablet destroys itself once you’re out of range of the its tether.
The reason why i wouldn’t recommend the Tablet to actually follow the player character:
-It’s extremely easy to track and follow with the naked eye.
-Gives your enemy an indication of your position as it “glides” to your position which is extremely dangerous in WvW and PvP when you’re trying to escape enemy player’s.
I mean seriously the tablet gives three indications:
1. A Revenant is in the Area.
2. The Revenant is within 900 range of the Tablet.
3. EASY KILL!!!
I would much rather have the current effect of the Tablet destroying itself once you’re out of range preserved.
This is probably a bug:
-For some odd reason upon death the Tablet Skills doesn’t seem reset itself.

Since some people prefer it doesn’t follow and some people would like it following them, I think the best solution would be able to switch between those. If you invoke Ventari, the tabled should be summoned automatically, then instead of the summoning skill, you would have a skill that would switch the tablet from moving to stationary with the skill that lets you place it wherever you want. Problematic would be the fact how to switch it back to following, but I’m sure they could figure out somethign.
Or they could simply add a F2 for the tablet that would switch it from follow you to you being able to place it and vice versa.

How do u get the ventari tablet up?
6 (assuming you haven’t re mapped your heal skill)
I agree, it should auto summon and follow you.
im with you in the auto-summoning topic but i dont want to see a auto-follow all the time.
The Problem is the cast time to make it move – remove the cast time so you can use it like shouts – not interrupting other skills and also usable while knocked down – and it will be fine IMO.
i’d say make it autosummon and autofollow, but stay put once moved. when you moved out of range it’s destroyed and a new one immediately appears by you.
-OR-
all tablet abilities occur centered on your character if you have no tablet summoned. with a tablet up, they all focus the tablet instead. perhaps a trait could allow them to echo on you even with a tablet up (mesmer self-shatter, is that still a thing?)
So, by auto-follow, do you mean you want it to move along at the same pace as the character at the edge of the tether distance when the character tries to move outside of the tether distance instead of just despawning the tablet?
If so, that sounds good. Might be hard to code that though. Probably won’t get that.
If you want it to just always follow you around without having to manually move it at all, like it’s an NPC, I’m against that.
Autosummon: a must.
Only reason to swap to a legen is to use its 6-0 skills (since they don’t change 1-5), and summoning the tablet is the only way to use Ventari ones. Makes no sense then I have to swap then summon. It’s redundant.
Autofollow: maybe that, maybe insta cast on 6 (and all other skills), so I’m actually able to do something while managing the tablet.
At the moment every tablet action locks you, making impossible to do anything else.
Or make some skills toggle and passive maybe? Like “6-mode”, “7-mode”, “8-mode”, and it’s just toggled to be triggered every X seconds.
tldr; make something to allow people to manage tablet and attack/dodge
Make it follow, like an engineer turret
I think he was referring to the regen part that you cut.
