Guild Wars 2

Played reaper exclusivly for the past 2 bwe’s, now i tried the revenant for smallscale-/solo-roaming for the first time and i had a blast.
Especially the duo-fights with a druid-buddy felt amazing, tons of damage and survivability.

Since the skilleditor is not up to date, in retribution i used the weakness trait instead of redeeming protection and in devastation assassins presence instead of ferocious strikes.

horrible, u are killing them cuz they have no idea what ur doing, stop button mashing and think before u click, and auto attack more

The first fight was kinda shortly after playing the class for the first time, so yeah, l2p issue, it got better throughout the weekend i think.
Was a fun fight nontheless, so i put it in.

People are being unpleasant here :o While the guy has room for improvement, which can be said for me as well also playing rev this first weekend, it was entertaining none the less to watch.

Yeah I wouldn’t hold those two’s feedback in high regard you are doing way better then they give you credit for. Aside from twitch firing a few Phase Smashes and Hammer 5s way off target the only real mistake you make is under valuing sword auto. With that said most of these fights are 1vX and not 1v1 in which case your touch and go fighting style is considerably more effective then trying to throw out autos which cause you to take way more damage then you would in a 1v1. You have excellent game sense. Using Chaotic Release and then snapping 180 degrees to land it and using Hammer 5 around corners to bait enemies into it are both great tactics. If you were really “button mashing” to the degree they claim you would be running out of energy long before legend swap cd and would not be able to survive as long as you do. I’d say you have a great handle on this class just don’t forget that Sword AA it’s quite strong.

well,IT IS the usage of skills in a correct situation ; the energy isnt the problem here
if you know what the ele is using for weapons and what passives are activating during combat you can easily counter him …

You are picking one fight out of the whole video. Essentially saying he his bad because he didn’t kill the ele as fast as he could have. You are also completely ignoring the things he did right in the fight the big one here being that he didn’t let the ele stack burn on him. He never once walked through the Ring of Fire. He didn’t play to Rev’s strength to kill the ele faster ,but he did win by denying the ele his main source of damage.

rofl, you didn’t win hard enough for some of these forum trolls. From an outside observer they are saying that Rev is faceroll easy and that just button mashing will get you through 1vX … their words, not mine. Guess Rev needs a major nerf … queue a mic drop and some dev twitter gloating.

Easily? Countering an ELE is one of the harder things to do, even if you do pick up on all that. Ele’s main strength is the sheer number of tools in his box of tricks.

I noticed it said Vol.1 .. Looking forward to Vol.2

I did plan on making another vid, same as on the reaper, but sadly our matchup was/is ppt-heavy and very poor on the roaming aspect.
Will do more vids once the addon hits.
One thing i will definitely change is switching to cleansing sigils on both weaponsets.
Got killed by one burning guard burst yesterday right after i switched to shiro, no additional damage or cover condis, 9 burning stacks took me from 90→0%

People think Rev is strong because they dont know how to counter it yet. In a couple weeks time after release people will know the rev skill Q’s and what to dodge and interrupt. not that complicated guys
