Voice-Over Feedback
I wont lie, I haven’t played too much of the Rev yet, but I don’t think it’s your character shouting. That’s the Legend making noises, not you.
Once again, I could be wrong because I haven’t really done too much with the Rev yet, so I can definitely be wrong, but this is just coming from what I know happens. (That being Legends grunt/growl/shout as you use them)

You are absolutely correct, it is the Legend making the sounds.
I guess my complaint is mostly about the fact that there’s no female Legends currently. I kind of feel like there should have been room for at least one in there, but instead we’ve got four legends that are all male.
It’s about representation – and the grunt dude noises are insult to injury. I focused on the noises because my previous feedback was deleted for not being constructive enough – and this time I’m offering an idea for a solution: Different noises, or different representations of Legends for female characters.
Shinya, the elite specialization will be Glint, who is one of the more important figures in the Guild Wars Lore so Don’t feel too bad! Plus with more elite specs in the future there could be more females.
This whole equal gender NUMBER thing is an insult to gender equality.

Why? I want legends to be chosen because of other reasons, not gender equality. Who the hell cares, it’s a game, have fun with it. There are many important female figures in GW2, you don’t need an equal number on Revenant.
Plus if Glint is the elite everyone will use her, so she’s already more important then the other ones.
Am I complaining because the elite is female? Who cares?
If male and female are the same, why are we counting them?

There is no need for different “noises”, the legend you are channeling is making the sound, not the player character. Why would Shiro suddenly become a kawaii canthan schoolgirl and start talking in a female pitch. “I’ve returned to defend you (senpai)”. (PS that line is horrible even in his own voice).
As for female legends, sure there is a lack of them at the moment. imo because it’s hard to find a female legend that made a big impact on the world (Jalis already is a bit weak on his renown) , and then link their “powers” to the current variety of “specs”
One might think of Jora from the norn or Livia from the humans (Or the ministry of purity leader Reiko, but i guess glint is already the mesmer-y legend ), mabey even Oola from the asura or Pyre Fierceshot’s grandaughter ( i think?), Kalla Scorchrazor.
You soon find yourself looking at mostly human characters. (e.g. Varesh Ossa) and nobody wants only human legends.
As much as more female legends could be totally awesome, i’d also rather they include impactful legendary characters/monsters/creatures with unique powers, rather than force a female legend.

Whoa, backlash.
Don’t worry, boys – I’ll consider myself silenced and will return to lamenting the lack of historical female heroes to celebrate quietly.
A different suggestion then: Gem Store sound package variants for combat shouts, not necessarily just for revenants either. Maybe Asura want to sound like Charr when shouting “Save Yourselves!,” or maybe a human dude wants to sound like a Sylvari chick when using one of the new Elementalist shouts.
or perhaps just the option to turn off Legend sounds while keeping the other game sounds on, so that Revenants don’t have to listen to deep-voice grunting while using the Centaur stance.
Basically, I don’t like the current sounds – that’s my feedback, and I’m offering alternatives.

Please make this a thing.
Of course are the legends who make noise, but these legends are channeled by you and make noise thanks to your body, it makes total sense for me to have male/feamle “cast” voices for legends

It’s a form of possession. Usually possession in fiction is portrayed as being above the physical limitations of the possessed, and it tends to be emphasized using the voice of the spirit rather than the host when there is a will to do so.
Considering Glint is basically a giant dragon, I don’t think she will sound very feminine either, she’d likely sound more like Mallyx.
Please just give a UI option to turn them off completely.

I agree with you, and i’m not against the “Legend voice”, but I just want to remark that the char voice instead of thelegend voice makes total sense, cause in certain aspect you are using their power, not physically invoking them in place

Nope.

Legend voiceovers are great.
It doesn’t seem like a bad idea to include an option to toggle off dialogue sounds from the invoked legends, i personally wouldn’t use it as it would take away from the feel of the profession for me, but it’s often better to have a choice.
I’m not quite in the “You’re being posessed” camp on the revenant, it’s more like you’re pulling a fragment (Or as i think the devs say “echo”.) of the legend into current Tyria. Some invoked legends demand you release them, so being possesed doesn’t seem quite right.
I’d like to think my revenant is the one holding the reins, and infuriating mallyx & shiro specifically seems quite entertaining. Hence why some of shiro’s “I’ve got your back bro” lines don’t sit well with me. On the other hand i really enjoy the “I demand you release me” lines.
As for what glint could sound like, you’d be surprised. I’ll include a link to a clip of her GW1 cinematic where the chosen heroes speak with her in her lair.
She sounds rather snake-like in the first game (She does have a fierce dragon roar if you mess with her eggs.), i’d imagine they’d try for a more draconic voice in GW2 but try to keep the feel of a female mesmer’ish/serpent tone.

Overall i’m really impressed with the voice overs of the legends, it adds a lot to the feel of the revenant.
