I’m starting to fall in love with the Mallyx legend, and I was wondering what builds people have already figured out for this legend. Very interested in looking at builds with a pvp focus. To me it seems like it will be good as a power/condi hybrid, but this is just a first impression.

I agree with the hybrid damage sources. I wanna test that out too but unfortunately i dont own a celestial set yet so i ran my Mallyx with a colorful Dire/Rabid/Whatever stat-mix in smallscale wvw (i avoid classic arena pvp at all). Since the Revenant is one of the very few classes with a low cooldown elite, i focussed on runes which have “doing XYZ when using an elite skill” and for now i ended up with the Krait-rune. Kinda exotic but i love selfcreated builds and with the Venom Enhancment-trait & Diabolic Inferno-trait, Mallxy’ Elite becomes a notable condition bomb.

I am running something similar (for testing) except I use:
1. Superior Rune of the Aristocracy (Condition Damage + Might Duration)
2. I use Hammer often over S+S and when I do I will take Crystal Hibernation instead of Soothing Bastion.
3. I am currently trying Rabid over Celestial … and plan on trying Sinister once I can afford to unlock it.

Sinister is a waste really. Dire for condi rev is better. Rabid is meh as well due to rev having easy +40% crit from fury with traits.

Oh, mind me! I missed it while searching for new runes and completly forgot I already bought it on some occassion. I stand corrected, then.

Bunker Rev, Mallyx/Glint if you wanna play an “offensive bunker” I might make a Guide soon.

This is what I’ve got so far. The apothecary might stay, but the givers and Rabid will likely change to Trailblazer. Runes will also likely change, but I’m not sold on what options I want. Mace and Mallyx is there for damage and boon removal while Ventari and Staff are there for ally healing and personal sustain. Mix and match weapon/legend as needed.

This. The retribution GM trait is different in game but same slot. I’d probably switch elder force for soothing bastion but not sure yet. Staff for utility and support and M/SH for offence and bunk. This is meant to be a bunker that supports allies and have decent condi. BTW Love perma resistance. GL my fellow revs!

I got kitteny with not dying after this weekends playing spree and now Leeroy too much but, playing conservative and correctly, I survive really well. The only real problem is I do so much damage sometimes that all the mobs come after me

I say heresy because the best aspect of the condi legend is direct damage, lol

1. The 20s cooldown on Venom Enhancement and the 25s cooldown on Spontaneous Destruction make these traits nonsensical for any PvP build. Long cooldowns are ok on defensive traits, but not really for offense.

2. The 10s cooldown on Frigid Precision is borderline.

3. Pulsating Pestilence is broken and doesn’t work.

All these combined mean that you are practically pigeonholed into the spec of:
Demonic Defiance + Bolstered Anguish (or Frigid Precision for pure Condi) + Diabolic Inferno.

If I’m wrong I’d love it if you could convince me.

I’d probably take Spontaneous Destruction over Bolstered Anguish to just annihilate any Boon-reliant class even if the CD is kinda long.
Then again, I haven’t played PvP in a while, so maybe the cleanses are even more ridiculous now than in BWE3.
