What To Do With The Tablet
Or just get rid of it altogether.

The spirit weapon you have to micro-manage with the same uselessness as spirit weapons.

Ventari stance is the one that needs most rework. Its concept is cool, but the micromanaging is not micro at all. It’s a full time job with a very low pay.
Auto summon? Yes. Resummon only when destroyed.
Auto follow? Maybe. I suggested it too in another thread, but many did not agree.
Insta cast on commands? YES PLEASE. Doesn’t make sense that we are locked while using them.
A buff on some tablet skills? Of course. The healing output seems too low or forces you to spec a lot on healing power, meaning it’s useless on balanced builds. It should be at least good on a celestial build and awesome on a full healer build.
We should be able to actually do something while micromanaging the tablet.

Even the Pale Tree tied up her copy of Ventari’s Tablet in vines just so she didn’t have to keep moving it everywhere.

Moving it is just 10% of the problem. Having to be locked while we issue orders is the biggest flaw. It should work like shouts.
I’m just giving an order, why I can’t even autoattack meanwhile?
Yes it should work like shouts and not interrupt dps. It should also have more passive effects radiate from the Revenant along with the current effects.
auto summon on invoke. And auto follow out of combat or until Ven Will is used.
I like the concept of Ven Will. But this skill need to self heal a small bit each use for it wont see any use in SPvP.

Yep, also this.

Must be the chain of thought @anet :P
i feel like it should follow you and all its effects should target you. instead of the movement skill, the tablet causes you to emit a pulse of healing, perhaps on a 10sec cooldown and roughly 3x the power of its current passive tick. The ventari elite shatters the tablet for a space of time to increase its heal effect to everything in a huge radius.
Then you can just give us a trait to make all these skilsl ground targeted which causes the tablet to quickly fly there and cast the effect.
They already said they don’t want tablet to feel like a pet with following.

So it instead becomes the Revenant’s “Rock of Sisyphus”?

no, it’s a pet you have to manually summon and constantly execute ground target skills just to get it to follow
hence this thread.
I don’t get people who say “yeah, make it auto-follow”.
Isn’t it exactly opposite of what Tablet is supposed to do?
I mean, you use Will to move it through allies, you can send it somewhere you can hardly step into (like enemy zerg/frontline).
What would be the point of the Tablet if it just auto-followed the Revenant? Then we could just get rid of it and make healing proc in radius around the caster himself…
Sure, Tablet has to auto-summon when you swap to Ventari, sure it should have bigger range and travel much faster, but I like the idea and it seems like most people don’t seem to understand the concept.

every tried skillshotting with a ground target? where you actually need the projectile to pass through the target, not just end at the same point as them?
that skill is simply unworkable in practice. It would make much more sense for it to be an aoe around the revenant, and be able to be traited for a ground target burst. Think the guardians f2 passive with the active now at a target location rather than just in a radius around them.
Auto summon when you invoke Ventari I can get behind, and have suggested this elsewhere myself.
Having the tablet follow you, I am not so keen on, not closely at least. I like how you can quickly command it to go somewhere and it stays there. So my alternate suggestion is to have it follow you at max tether range. Either that or keep the desummon effect and have it auto summon when you enter combat or manually summon it again.
Having Ventari’s Will unbind the tablet would make controlling the tablet more awkward IMO. I really like how you can position it anywhere you want, with a quick ground target skill use, or pass it through allies to give them a little extra healing (which I think needs to scale higher with healing power), on its way to the next position. The tablet move command needs to be quick and easy to use, which is achieved quite well with a ground target skill. Having to toggle this unbound mode on and off before it moves seems to me like it would make it more fiddly to use. It may make it easier to use to support yourself, but the purpose of the tablet is to help support your allies more than it is to help support yourself.
As to the elite resummoning the tablet, I think there should be a short delay before it can be resummoned again, and having to resummon it manually adds that delay. You could have a delayed auto-resummon I guess. But then maybe it’s Anet’s intent to allow enemies to interrupt the resummon?

I tried.
It’s perfectly possible. Tablet will require it’s range increase to 300 and should affect in that radius, should be faster and probably add Protection to that small healing, but even now I was able to “skillshot” it through 1-3 people almost constantly. Matter of practice. At the end of the beta I had about 20+ hours clocked on my Revenant, so I got slightly better at it.
Not to mention, “skillshotting” it is only somewhat hard in PvP and without communication. In WvW or PvE it’s piece of cake.

LOL….ah…how about Nuuuuuuuuu! XD
Yeah I agree it needs to get summoned when you call on the legendary at the very least. The heals could use a bit more healing power, I do love how it can reflect projectiles AND you can move it anywhere but maybe add some auto random buffs or something more to it. Seriously, that tablet needs to be tweaked and OP imo, the fact that it looks so awesome should reflect how awesome it is! I want players to see it and think “Hey a tablet! Run to it if you want to live!” …just saying.

I agree that the Tablet totally needs to be autosummoned when 1) You invoke the legend and re-summoned when 2) You destroy it with the elite
I don’t mind the following of the table if the “placement” mechanic is still present (you target an area and the tablet goes there and stays until you command it to go to another place or go out of range), and in fact I think its very new-player friendly and more intuitive than re-summoning it.
The other things are more balance oriented and concern me far less.
