Srsly… please can we be free from this? Deflect..reflects..and terrain cutting damage by 50% of the damage or even completely preventing from attacking as in vid. I dont mind if sword vul stacks get a lil nerfed but that thing..

would be nice as a simple visual effect but it shouldn’t work as an actual projectile. often i just get stuck on the 2nd auto attack, losing all my damage… and have to switch to staff.

Yeah, I was pretty disappointed when I saw that they were adding this to the autoattack chain. Too much time spent with Guardian sword has told me that it’s just not worth the trouble.

Autoattacks should be consistent. Either all ranged/projectile, or no ranged/projectile.

Projectile in this games are so bad. Just look at vengeful hammers.

Roy has been very helpful so far. I REALLY hope he looks into this. It’s very difficult to land to inside bases in SW because the little hills. The auto attack really suffers from this big time

edit – would race make a difference in making the projectiles hit or not? Like would it be worse on asura or charr? If we do end up being stuck with it just wondering…i.e. because of height/vs height of objects around

afaik race doesn’t affect attacks. hitboxes and range are equal for all races because of fairness. as an asura some things might appear to hit you where you would think they won’t or vice versa because you have the same hitbox as a charr/norn which are way bigger.

Yeah..i hope they change it before launch otherwise it will be quite unplayable in pve and at some point also in pvp once people learn that all they have to do is reflect. Tbh i dont understand why they bother adding projectiles on melee autoatk in the first place..

I also count for “new” (mes sword chain) animations cus current one is so clunky that it feels like nothing but placeholder. They got staff right and i hope they get sword right as well.

There. Fixed. I know they’re trying to make it unique and creative but you never want to trade practicality for the sake of being different.

I agree. Besides, the delayed burst is already exciting and unique by itself, so the AA would still be cool with only that. This would also fix the weird attacking animations.

In compensation, Anet/ Roy can always make sword #2 stronger for those that want better ranged options, if they get to lose AA #2’s effect. And, in my opinion, they could add AA #3’s very same delayed burst to sword #2. Two skills with added delayed bursts would make the weapon more cohesive while giving it clearer counterplay (which, currently, is not at an ideal state, considering how easily rewarding sword #3 is).

Loved the Divinity OS music. Good choice. I do hope this gets fixed though, i really want to main a Revenant but this is an incredibly glaring issue.

projectiles are affected by character height. for example I was in arah dungeon and the group stacked up behind a low wall. everyone was attacking over it just fine but my little asura kept getting obstructed.

Im not sure how that this relates to brutal blade though, Charr are pretty tall but the npc he was attacking spams blinds. then at the end he moves to the side where all his attacks connect with target.

I was not able to casually reproduce this on target golems.

What exactly is going on in this video? To me it looks like he’s not even hitting the initial attack most of the time. Is he showing the uneven terrain destroying the projectile?

Yep, thats one of the issues. Often the projectile doesnt return to me, it doesnt hit on the way back when i dance around my opponent, is too slow, is affected by projectile deflection/reflection preventing you to do any damage or even hurt yourself. Its really bad, just like that animation mess we have – starting with stab..for real?

On Saturday, I was having problems in Orr getting UA to activate. I was literally standing right next to an opponent on what appeared to be flat ground and getting a “no path to target” message. Of course I didn’t think to take a screenshot, and when I tried the next day, couldn’t get it to work.
