In the Shiro Tagachi blog post, its pretty apparent his channelling colour is green. It surrounds the player’s hands, appears when you begin channelling, and when you summon the Jade Daggers, as seen in the screenshot.

I get that the green is meant to represent the Jade Sea after it was crystallized by Shiro’s shout, but I feel like red or yellow represents him more as a character, considering it was the colour of his armour and skill icons in GW1. Red was also the colour of his Shiro’ken constructs and it can indirectly relate to his final goal of collecting the royal family’s blood.

and even from an aesthetic point of view, I feel like theres too many contrasting colours. Red, White and Black from the Revenant’s signature colours, with Green from channelling Shiro. I feel like the contrast between all of them is a bit much.

Obviously its a really minor thing, I just feel like red or yellow would have been a better choice for Shiro’s colours for aesthetic and connotative reasons.

(On an unrelated note to save me making another thread, I think rather than the Jade Daggers being just lumps of floating jade, it would have been better if they were a set of knives that float around you, similar to how the Shiro’ken Assassins used to look in GW1, and how Shiro always had multiple swords behind him in concept art.)

About the contrast , yeah, u may be right. But you know GW2 fashion is always a bit over the top

Im actually glad its green, it fits the armor light colour, weapons and overall contrast i gonna roll with. The chainwhip swords hopefully gonna look good with the animations.. else i still got the daydreamer swords on standby

Ventari bar is also green, howered i didnt seen any glow effect in stream/beta. Maybe bugged howered if there is one it will be green as well.

Save Shiro and make his glow red/yellow!

I’m quite certain ventari’s colour is green… If I was going to guess I would say shiro will probably be yellow

Yea, I’m a little dissapointed that they used a dark green for the Shiro energy bar, I mean sure Jade is green but Shiro’s general color scheme is overwhelmingly a Fiery orange, red, and yellow combination. I was really expecting the Energy bar to turn into a Fiery Orange, and we would have had a good variety of colors for the Rev stances (Blue, Purple, Green and Red/Orange). Instead they just doubled up on green. I know changing the animation for the energy bar requires a good amount of effort, but I hope the dark green isn’t the final choice and there’s still some time to change it to match his usual color scheme and symbol.

Bump in support of this because visuals are really important here. Red feels a lot more vicious. Green is associated with nature and healing. It doesn’t fit.

a lot of shiro is about life stealing and healing himself plus most of his skills are named Jade which is a green gem.

or just maybe Shiro’s favorite color is green :p

Green UI elements are also very Necromancer-like. Just because he died and turned some things green doesn’t mean his whole kit and theme should be green.

Yeah you are right, i remembered more green xD
still, since the jade is the theme i see green fitting, but is my personal preference

Yeah same here, just feels kind of dull that both ventari and Shiro are green, I get it green jade but Shiro always had a bright red and yellow colouring to him. I just feel like their isn’t enough distinction in colour between the two. I don’t entirely agree with the colour clashing argument but I do think a change in colouring to either Ventari or Shiro would be nice, make them more distinct I suppose.
