Why Revenant Elite Specialization
Yet Revenant is brand new, untested, undiscovered, and a concept of what it lacks or a reimagining seems incredibly premature. Even damagingly premature.
no. there will be new specialisations in the future. Until then you can think of it as fair of having access to as much options as an old class.
PS: you have to admit locking tomes of knowledge off for a while after launch for Revenants is a good idea lol.
I do certainly not.
Simply because it would make no difference and be just anoying. People who want the endgame experience will rush to level 80 in less then 24h anyway and basically have a bad time doing so because they are forced to something they do not want and only consumes time and money.
EoTM will be filled with revenant trains, people will get frustrated in dungeons because everyone swaps to rev at boss, and normal players will be fed up with revs who do not know there class anyways even in standard encounters.
there is no gain from locking the tomes other then prolonging the frustration of the entire playerbase and the time when a player actually starts casring to get to know its new class.
I want my rev to be insta 80 so that I can try it out in WvW roaming rather than dumb PvE levelling… I wouldnt like that Tomes of Knowledge change.
I do agree with the revenant elite specialization though, maybe anet should wait 1 or 2 months after HoT is out and then introduce it?
I don’t see the point of imposing a limit on using tomes of knowledge. The fastest way to let a profession be understood properly is to let people play it at level 80, not level 43.
The elite spec though? I dunno. I’m interested to see how it changes the rev before I make any judgement as to whether it’s too hasty or not.

I already know how to press 1 and F.
Everyone who really wanted one already has a lvl 80 revenant in the form of tomes and scrolls of experience.
maybe elite spec for the rev isnt like for other classes,
a guardian gets a longbow and the skills are kinda high dps
a revenant gets to channel a new legends but doesnt changes the mechanics like with necro…. i think

How to enrage the whole community: part 2. (Part 1 was the HoT prepurchase with free base game and no character slot)
No.
People who leveled 8 classes have no interest in leveling another one at launch. They want to experience the new content.
And this doesn’t even include only Revenant, but also old classes. Maybe some people don’t have Ranger but may want to level it to get a Druid.

Tomes to 80, find best basic DPS rotation and useful utility skills, learn it near perfect in an hour or two. It won’t be very difficult, leveling doesn’t teach me much that I can’t learn quickly at lvl 80 in sub-optimal pugs anyway.
Leveling really kills the game for me, it’s the only thing I haven’t enjoyed in the game since launch. Out of every RPG I’ve played, this game has the absolute worst leveling system for someone like myself, and I would absolutely detest having to level through it again. It takes maybe 10 levels worth of time to learn in it’s entirety a class’s basic functionality.
Kluzukaze – Mesmer
Rhomulos Prime – Revenant
I disagree on your second point. GW2 has a very relaxing leveling experience. You can craft, explore, do wvw, do story, do events or dungeons. Basically what you do at lv 80. You can levelup while doing map completion, that is actually a step required to craft the legendary.
It’s way better then any other mmo I’ve tried, from the usual “fetch quest, repeat” to mmos like FFXIV where you just need to go around camping events (that are always the same, like 3-4 in each map) and spam heals naked to levelup. Most boring things ever.

here i have been collecting tomes of knowledge just to avoid leveling a ninth profession to level 80. What do you want me to do with those tomes ?
you can go on and level your revenant all you want, mine will be upgraded in the next minute to level 80 instead and i will have just as much fun with him as you or even more because i don’t have to play those low level events and can jump already into the jungle with a complete set of ascended gear…
HOT will completely change the endgame and once you are level 80 you will still have plenty to do if you want to complete all those masteries that are waiting for you.
