I don’t really know if it’s been asked before but I have 5 boxes and I was wondering if it will be of use to my Revenant when HoT hits this friday. Of course I’m refering to Chest of Exotic Equipment but the title was too long.

i tried to open one during beta weekend. i didnt see a revenant chest option. i guess wait till hot is released and hope for the best. it might be an oversight for the first few weeks.

Hmmmm…. Good question. If they developed well then yes… Otherwise they didn’t or didn’t want rev stuff in the chests…

But i guess yes… Or buy some für dungeons tokens.

It is just exotic… You’ll See then

Guardian has:
Sword
Greatsword
Mace
Hammer
Scepter

Only one it’s missing is axe. Assuming each weapon type has equal chance of dropping, you have a 6/11 chance of getting a revenant weapon, which drops to 6/12 after HoT (if elite specialisation weapons include what can be found in the various boxes).

Warrior has:
Sword
Greatsword
Mace
Hammer
Axe
Longbow
Rifle
Shield
Warhorn
Spear
Speargun
(Torch)

Only staff is missing this time. 6/11 chance of getting a revenant-suitable weapon pre-HoT, 6/12 afterwards. (It surprises me that guardian and warrior have the same number of weapons – warrior has more options because of the number that are both mainhands and offhands, but the overall variety is the same.)

Mesmer has:
Sword
Greatsword
Scepter
Staff
Pistol
Focus
Torch
Spear
Trident
(Shield)

Missing axe, mace, and hammer. Has a 3/9 chance of giving a revenant-suitable weapon. Post-HoT, this rises to 4/10. So there’s less chance of getting a revenant-suitable weapon, but if you already have some of the weapons the mesmer is missing covered, it might be an option.

Necromancer:
Axe
Dagger
Scepter
Staff
Focus
Warhorn
Spear
Trident
(Greatsword)

3/8 chance of a revenant-suitable weapon, dropping to 3/9 post-HoT.

Engineer:
Pistol
Rifle
Shield
Speargun
(Hammer)

1/4 chance, rises to 2/5 with HoT. May be worth considering if you’re looking for a shield or hammer specifically.

Ranger:
Sword
Greatsword
Axe
Shortbow
Longbow
Dagger
Warhorn
Spear
Speargun
(Staff)

3/9, rises to 4/10 with HoT. About the same as mesmer, except you have a chance at an axe instead of a shield.

Thief:
Sword
Dagger
Pistol

2/6 chance, rises to 3/7 with HoT. Might be worth considering if you specifically want one of those three.

Maybe if you really just want a staff…

Still, it would be better to know there’ll be a revenant box to choose from. I think there was one for completing the first part of the HoT story during the beta weekends with a revenant – does anyone remember for sure?

Remember you can also get armor and trinkets out of those boxes, that’s why you’d want to go for a heavy armor chest so either warrior and guardian.

Ah, yes. I’ve rarely got armour out of the boxes, so I didn’t consider that. If you’ve already got a full set of armour, though, then the above is still valid.

Warrior is also missing pistol.

Guardians are just warriors fighting for a specific cause. So their access to weapons should be similar.

Don’t know if anyone still cares, but I just opened mine and revenant was not not an option. Went with warrior and got a speargun sadly..
