It is beta, and maybe this is a l2p issue.

but in my skills slot I see that there are offhand shield skills, but mouse over shield in inventory and it gives the “unable to use by your profession”. As for utility skills, In the skills pane I see some nifty utility traits, however I am unable to change from the default beta character ones?

working as intended or l2p?

you need to spec into herald.

you need to select the Herald elite spec to use a shield.

The utility skills are specific to each legend. To change utilities, equip a different legend.

hmm I have Corruption, Salvation (5 total), etc. but no Herald. As soon as I created toon I jumped into wvw, there some quest in starter area to unlock Herald?

Did you try to change the 3rd specialization to Herald?

so hmm yeah a L2P issue

Yeah I have Herald equipped, no facets I’m stuck with Shiro and Dwarf Dude WTF, seriously I have like an hour a day to beta test before going to work you would think they would make this kitten a bit more user friendly.

have you clicked on the small arrow above Jalis or Shiro? It’s exactly like changing an utility skill, so it’s something that you get explained at level 10 by the UI helper.

If you tried then provide a screenshot of your legend list please.
