so after tesing many variations of the healer concept and compare it to the meta ele here are my thoughts
1. rev has great healing skills in theory
2. rev had great buff to allies healing (15%,21%,20%,20%,25%) in some scenarios
3. on paper the tablets skills are or should be good and even can outheal the ele abilities
4. ability to heal from range (its pro and con)
the main problem i find is the micro managing the tablet around. i see low hp ally i move the tablet and he dodge aways not to take further dmg as he cant w8 for 1 sec to proc heal. thus it makes it harder to heal this way.
i played with a fellow thief and show him the abilities. he was amazed by the burst healing i can put but the constant movement of the thief made it harder. thus i ask him to come near the tablet if he need hp and BOOM it work much better. whenever he was low he come and i heal. but in this astrategic lay a big problem.
enemy will see the tablet and cc on it when they see ally come near. especialy in group fight. thus again micromanaging is needed always which seem it probably design to wvw larger area than small area pvp.
another big problem is the ability of the rev to self sustain. ele can handle 1v2 even in team fight. rev has much problem to sustain himself with no stun break, slow reaction with healing skills, no escape abilities.
so what can be done
i try to come up with as few as possible changes so anet might try them out with mainly ventary tablet skills.
1. when you change legends the tablet skills should be up. there is no need to activate it to see you skills. this will give more faster reaction time to situations.
2. PS – should be -7 drain – nice buff but not a must
3. NH should be 15 energy(25% less) and 3 sec cd (50% more) and buff the healing by 25% to compensate the 1 sec delay still might be problem which make the rev a team HP watcher. this is the main healing aoe skills. the energy drains too fast
4. PE should be 25 energy and convert conditions into boons – which might pull off ppl from dragon legend. as a healer rev lack boons support.
5. the passive heal with heal skill should be buff or go better with healing scale. and the radios should be 240 and not 120. the main problem with healing as with no defense ability or sustain you cant handle the pressure. so this buff wont make it op. rev has no way to pressure so if warrior has 880 hps with signet and burst ability we need at least 500 and not 380 with 1200 healing power.
6. protective solace should be block and not only destroy and even better reflect as it cost so much energy for a healer and need so much good timing with good energy management. the reflect makes it nice as pressure ability if use it right
7. remove the fragments from elite skills and replace with healing burst which ticking for 5 sec (or 6 sec if traited with natural abundance).
its so hard during fight to reach these random fragments. so every time you use ventary skills you proc healing burst (180 radios) so maybe reduce the healing from it a bit. so from 1.6k assuming 3 allies so they will heal about 3.2k each. make it 700 healing pers second tick for 5 sec aoe.
8. natural abundance will convert 1 condition into boon every time you use ventary skill. as rev lack codi cleanse versus this condi bomb meta comp. it wont be op as you need energy to heal yourself and allies. but when being burst by condi you have the ability to do so.
9. invoking harmony – should be also to self. as you can swap back to dragon or dwarf and migh be good to benefit the healing buff instead of counting 20 sec during fight (micro managing again)
for dwarf legend
1. vengeful hammers – better dmg and healing scale as with 1200 healing its only 62 healing per hammer which is so low. i think around 100 with 1200 healing power should be good. (should consider wvw as you can hit 5 target and get heal for 1k per sec so maybe limit to 3 targets)
also dmg might be buff to 100
2. forced engagement – reduced energy to 25 and increase cd to 6 or 7 sec
3. inspiring reinforcement – the stability has reaction time before it proc. it should be proc when i use the skill and not when the skill ends the animation.
hope it help and give some ideas. i have done unranked and ranked fights to test every variation, healing abilities, self sustain etc..
assuming the buff it all like the above maybe some adjustment will be needed to no make it op healing bunker (no stunbreak, no immunity like ele so i think it will be fine)
