weapon swap- why?
If your not running hammer what will you do vs an enemy with 1200 range? Bet you will be missing that weapon swap the while chasing them around with that zero range no gap closer staff.

That’s why we need more utility options, so we can slot in gap closers or something close. Existing skills can also be tweaked, like longer taunt duration with Jalis or a way to deal with melee opponents with the hammer.
Weapon swapping is just the easiest but worst way to solve problems, because it would introduce a new one (having two swap buttons instead of one, which wouldn’t feel smooth to play with at all).
Actually if you bothered to read most of the posts asking for weapon swap you will see, in fact, Utility Swap is not the same thing as Weapon Swap. Some points brought up so far are:
1. It’s the only class in the game right now that can’t change it’s 1-5 skills. Classes always have 2-6 options to change these abilities.
2. Weapons are very Legend/Specialization specific. Taking a Hammer doesn’t help out Salvation line which has Staff altering abilities in it. The additional conditions in Corruption doesn’t benefit you unless you’re doing a Condi Mace/Axe build.
3. There’s no permanence to Legend benefits. For example if you swap out of Jalis, you cease to benefit from Jalis as there’s very few if any lasting buffs from any of the lines. All of Ventari’s stuff immediately disappears without the Tablet. Most resistance in Malyx lasts but a few seconds.
In essence, it doesn’t gain enough benefit from Utility Swap to justify losing a second weapon set. Now they could adjust the Utilities and make them more powerful or more Energy efficient or something of that nature but as it stands it’s just not there.
Lack of weapon swap is great, gives a more distinct feel to builds (not that wishy washy works at all ranges kind of builds). Just need the utility skill to be able cover the weakness and support the strengths better, e.g. possibility of AoE cripple (like on the circling hammers) to help the hammer, and another mobility skill somewhere so that unyielding anguish isn’t the only.

1. with 2 utilities legend you have 5 weapon slot so 10 utilities in total . no other profession got 10 utilities . so you end up the same but i say bring up one more legend to choose from
2. if you want condition with mace /axe you take healing legend and condition legend so you build yourself around condition. same with hammer you take jalis
3. you right the legend are weak atm and not benefit the play and game style of the revenant
I think it should be noted though that other professions can customize their utilities, while the Revenant is only able to swap between 2 legends and use those set in stone 10 skills.
One heal, 3 utilities and 1 elite. Every legend has those and they can’t be changed.
You can swap legend but you’re forced to use the entire packet that comes with it, while others can mix and match.
Engineer and elementalist too, can’t weapon swap, but both of them gain access to multiple sets of 1/5 skills, either from their main mechanic (attunements), or from their utilities (kits).
They also have access to ranged and melee options during combat (tool kit, weapon summons) and can customize their healing skill.
I would be cool without weapon swap if utilities offered a mix of ranged and melee options or a set to pick from, but that doesn’t seem to be the case at the moment.

1. The 10 utility slots, which are static and you’re unable to choose what goes into them at this time, isn’t enough to justify the loss of a weapon slot. Even an Engineer with 2 kits, the 5 tool slots, and their main weapon has at least four the same as the Elementalist. With only 2 Legends that’s only 3 total bars you’re swapping around with.
2. You have 3 specializations. By your logic we take Jalis as hammer, but then I have 2 more choices. Assuming Invocation is the second one, all the rest are built around their specific weapon you can’t swap to giving you an option of traits that are so specialized as to be worthless to you.
As I see it they got two routes. Either they add an additional weapon or they unfocus the specialization traits to be more generic rather than so specific. I mean they can choose to do neither, but then this class will always end up just being an inferior version of other classes. An Elementalist can easily do the same support as Ventari and Jalis while still providing large AOE DPS and CC Support at the same time and their Cantrips provide more survivability than Revenant could imagine getting on their best day.
i really dont know what ppl call for weapon swap
you have utilities swap which is the same and even more unique
They don’t need to add weapon swap IF they rebuild the existing weapons so that their functions shift a bit for each Legend, so that each weapon provides some useful benefits no matter which Legend you run. As it stands, each weapon is way too tied to one specific Legend, and kinda junk for any other, and that means when you swap Legends your weapon becomes broken.
TL;DR, They need to EITHER add weapon perks that shift based on current Legend OR allow you to swap weapons along with swapping Legends.
you spend complaining about it on the forums, you’d be
done by now.”

Actually as far as pure skills go, you are not the same.
The fact that you cant choose what utilities you bring makes this class worse.
Secondly there is still the fact that non of the utilities address the problem of having a melee or ranged option with the weapon you choose.
Allowing weapon swap on this character would address the issue of being shoehorned into utilities that you can’t customize since NON of the utilites give you a melee or ranged attack weapon option like the engi or ele.
2. if you want condition with mace /axe you take healing legend and condition legend so you build yourself around condition. same with hammer you take jalis
That’s a problem, I’m not sure if you are seeing that or not.
You are shoehorned into a specific weapon, traitline, and legend.
Non of the other traitlines have synergy with a different theme or weapon.
You cant spec corruption and use a staff OR hammer
You cant spec Salvation and use a mace/axe.
And when we get shiro, you wont spec staff or hammer (unless they somehow make sweeping changes to the traitlines and utilities)
You are basically being told what you can run, limiting the “play like you want” mantra that the game was built on.
3. you right the legend are weak atm and not benefit the play and game style of the revenant
It’s not just legends, the entire class with the activations, traitlines, and energy cost make it sit basically at the bottom of classes so far.
I understand we are missing one more traitline.
But honestly,
One traitline and one legend are not going to make the other issues magically disappear.
what i would suggest is (even if you cant “choose” your utilities, lets be frank most take 1-2 condi cleanse, 1-2 stun break)
the legend defy your weapons choice ie
if you take hammer and use it with demon legend than your weapon will do 1 stack of condi dmg as hammer is pure rane dps so like
blind, cripple, chill, slow, taunt which all support power dmg
if you take mace/axe you will get another stack of condition as of now the condi dmg is way too low regarding numbers of conditions and their stacks so give burning , bleeding , torment , confusion, poison
if you take centaur your weapon attacks will heal for small amout, cleanse 1 condi , give protection regen etc
sure put some icd or low duration or both
this way you will have utilities which support your weapon choice and you can swap to get different aspect while fighting

That, I agree with. That’s why revenant needs more utility skills. Design-wise, that’s a more elegant solution than two different “weapon” swap buttons.
