Guild Wars 2

So i decided to try out meele (D/D) thief. Tried glass cannon, its fun to blow ppl in 2 secdonds, but i find it not fun at all when u can actually get blown back by downed skills while having 11-12 k hp and no toughness at all, or die from conditions while fleeing after you stomped someone. So I decided to take more balanced aproach. At the moment Im running full berserker armor set with valkyrie orbs in it, full valkyrie accessories with beryl jewels and berserker daggers (one has superior sigil of air on it, other one is blank, cant decide what to use). Build is 0/30/30/10 with side strike, critical haste, hiden killer; cloaked in shadow, infusion of shadow and shadows rejuvenation but i think thats pretty much default for non glass backstab thief. That took away 20 % crit chance from full berserker type build (I have 35 % atm,), but added me 5 k+ hp I was wondering about thiefs that run similiar build, what gear do u chose? do u go full valkyrie with no crit at all ? do u mix it with berserkers ? how much crit do u have out of stealth ? and what sigils do you use ?

I am using valk gear (chest piece is berserker). Zerker jewelry with ruby orbs. Zerker weapons.

Running master maintenance oil and mango pie.

About 17-18k HP. Regen about 400/s in stealth.
50% crit rate
98 crit damage

I’m not full GC, but leaning in that direction with some extra vit.

I run 10/30/30/0/0 d/d. I have low hp but with all armor is knight gear everything else zerker. It’s not Tanky but you won’t be killed by AoE and auto attack.

I was running 10/30/30/0/0 for a long time before i switched to S/D. I was using full Valkyrie and had 19,2k hp, 23% crit chance, 114% crit damage and 2,3k armor. Around 3k Attack. Crit chance is not needed when you have Hidden Killer and spam Backstab all over the place.

It’s probably the strongest spec i have played so far but S/D is much more fun. Talking WvW here ofc. In PvE S/D > All

I use 0/25/30/15/0 with a mix of Knight’s (power, precision and toughness) and Berserker’s (power, precision and % crit damage). I actually have the 2 complete sets and add up Knight’s pieces as needed, starting with head, coat and leggings for maximum crit damage. For trinkets, Ruby (power, precision and vitality). I totally love it’s survivability.

Note that toughness is WAY more rewarding than vitality for us because we have a good regen rate from Shadow Protector and Shadow’s Rejuvenation, meaning our effective HP can be way better than bigger values of real HP without damage mitigation. Shadow’s Embrace is also important so we’re not so dependant in vitality to survive conditions.
