Guild Wars 2

So I’ve been hearing that thieves can kill some of the gauntlet bosses within 15ish seconds (specifically hammerfell). So can anyone share a build that can accomplish this? (I don’t usually use my thief for anything, so I hope this will give me something to use her for.)

Sw/p. spam black powder and autoattack to death

Any build is easy to kill Hamli with 5 gambits if you go full DPS. You just need to avoid his hammer smash attach, whether that be a dodge/evade/invulnerable.

k. But what traits though? Like I said, I don’t use my thief, so I don’t really know any traits/builds.

I have probably at least 1000 tickets I want to use, and want the fastest way(s) to kill him. Thanks.
(I’m also assuming you guys are only using full zerker gear)

Shadow Shot, Head Shot and Black Powder are more than enough to blind/interrupt his isntant kill skill. Shadow Shot and Steal will provide the neccessary teleports, so that you can ignore your 0% stamina and being crippled too. Worked like a charm for me. But S/P works with the same logic, however I’ve found D/P better because of Shadow Shot (teleport and blind for one button press is safer than Sw 2 then Black Powder).

d/p also works. Just BP-auto attack-HS-move around-backstab.

I’ve been using the 5 gambits on hammerfall as an excuse to practice effective backstabbing.

D/P 2/6/0/0/6 with 5 gambits works well against deadeye as someone else mentioned. When he teleports away, just be careful you don’t shadowstep into a mine as he’s running towards you. Thieves guild helps immensely with the frailty gambit as well.

D/P against Hammerfell is really easy. If you have a large number of tickets to spend, I suggest you run 4 gambits instead of 5 dropping Squeamish. With 4 gambits, it is much faster to kill him and the extra one gauntlet chance you get from the 5th gambit isn’t worth the extra time it takes to kill him with reduced damage dealt.

Yeah this is basically what I was doing yesterday for about an hour (Man this gets boring after a while ).

Thanks. I tried this and its fairly quick (not as fast as I’ve seen people say, but that could be because I’m only running rares instead of exo/ascended, and only masterwork jewelry. I didn’t want to use my ectos for rare jewelry ).
Also I was only doing 4 gambits (no endurance/dodge, perm cripple, burning, and frailty).

You don’t run 5 gambits. You run 4. Squemish effectively cuts your damage by 50% and it will prolong the fight from normally 15seconds to 30-40 seconds. For one extra gauntlet chance, the time spent per gauntlet is not worth the extra gambit.

This is what I use. Don’t even need Black Powder with D/P. Cast Shadowshot whenever he doesn’t have blind (Hammerfell) as the DPS is far better than 6init Black powder.

After watching another fellow thief defeat Halmi with 4 gambits, and half the time I usually took with 5, I’ve switched to doing the same. You don’t need to backstab with d/p – just keep auto attacking. Also, haste covers the time Thieve’s Guild is in cooldown. I think it also works better than TG.

Now if I can just get tickets as fast as I can kill Hammerfall, that’d be great….
