5 second CD on sword 2
Broken? How so? Spamming it drains your initiative fast and deals practically no damage. It’s an amazing skill, don’t get me wrong. But I fail to see why it needs a cooldown.
I completely agree with you ^^ i dont think its overpowered. But just incase they decide to do something i think that would be the way to go.
I also do not think they should remove a boon. It is kind of ridiculous…
And be the only Thief weapon skill that has a cooldown? No thanks. If Anet feels like there needs to be more counterplay against sword, then I would hope that they would only do something like make the skill animation more visible or slightly increase the cast time.
But honestly, it’s fine as is. There are so many other skills I would rather see them adjust instead.

Im just fielding thoughts. I mean the 2 skill is hard to counter but i dont think its really OP. Also i said i dont think removing a boon from sword 3 is a good idea

Anyway, I think boon-hate is excellent. I rely on it to remove stability, something that’s especially important when using S/P. And considering how long stability can last on Warriors and Guards, removing it is incredibly important. Retaliation can also cause a lot of damage, and Thieves need a way to mitigate that.
Ya. sorry for the confusion. I dont think s/d is overpowered but nerfing thieves is a custom in guild wars 2 lol.
It was OP when it was a stunbreaker. Now that its not, it is perfectly fine. No reason to nerf it at all.

Adding some clarification in case some new thieves read this, when Stx says deals no damage, he means it deals a small amount, it still does damage.

Well let’s look at it, D/D got hate(lolbackstab), D/P got hate(lolstealth), S/P got hate(lolpistolwhip), Ive even seen P/D get hate(lolstealthcondi). Only ones left are SB(lol) and S/D really(lolevades), oh and P/P but those thiefmers will take care of that(lolconfusion).

when you put it like that, it makes thief look like an OP profession with a whole bunch of broken weaponsets lol!
adding a cooldown would be no cool at all. Sword 2# allows for great openings into a fight but that’s it, as a thief we need the great openings or we would get destroyed. For example if someone else attack me first I need to use a utility right away.
Making things more visible might be the right way to go though, that goes for all class mechanics really.
