What are the exact benefits of this trait? I’ve read some differing ‘theories’ on how it works.

The way I understand it – the game automatically slows everyone by a certain percentage while in combat (can anyone provide the exact % slowdown?). This is definitely known.

A thief with the trait, OOC and in stealth will move at swiftness speed and not the advertised +50% (133% speed or 150% speed?).

A thief with the trait, in combat and in Stealth will move at swiftness speed as well? (as in 133% movement) Or the thief will run at regular speed, as if the combat speed decrease did not apply.

I’m not saying this is what happens, but what I’ve read and experienced.

Why is this skill not baseline, it’s a joke as an acro adept.

Fleet’s Shadow is great actually, but yeah, it’s very situational. Being the same tier as the only real condi removal trait in Acro though, you’ll either have to run SA & Acro lines together, or you’ll end up with minimal condi removal via SoA or Trickster. It will help you stick to target better if you’re under effects of movement impairing conditions in combat, almost negating their effects completely while stealthed.

Because it would make Backstab more OP than it already is.

I believe it negates the effects of combat running speed. So basically, you in stealth and chasing a target, you will be running at normal movement speed. It will help you catch your target, assuming of course, that same target is not on Swiftness anything.

Lets be honest thief is far from OP atm, this would barely change anything. Lets stop being fine with the way things are and actually accept buffs if they happen to come our way.

I didn’t say thief was OP but backstab hits for a lot of damage, has no CD and it’s only regulation is being in stealth and hitting the target anywhere but in the front. Add in that stealth moving faster is baseline will make it easier to land.

GW2 Movement Speed Physics 101:

Base Movement Speed ooc (out of combat) is 100% and base Movement Speed ic (in combat) is 66%. All speed impacts use these as their base to calculate.
Maximum Movement Speed attainable through ingame means is 133% (excluding Movement Skills which seem to move at 166 – 175% regardless of being ooc or ic, formerly scaling with speed impacts. Most Movement Skills now ignore all speed impacts. One exception which should be fixed asap is the Acid Bomb on Engineer’s Elixir Gun, which still scales 100% with all speed impacts but Superspeed which behaves like Swiftness in this case).

Thus, we get the following total values ooc:
Base 100%, Signet/Runes of the Traveller 125% ( + 25%), Swiftness 133% ( +33%), Fleet Shadow 133% ( + 50% but hits cap), Superspeed 133% ( +100% but hits cap).

It follows for being ic:
Base 66%, Signet/Runes of the Traveller 82.5% ( + 25%), Swiftness 87.78% ( + 33%), Fleet Shadow 99% ( + 50%), Superspeed 132% ( + 100%).

A Dodge Roll is capped at 125% regardless of being ooc or ic and is not affected by speed impacts, thus resulting in a slightly shorter jump distance than if you’d just jump while under the influence of Swiftness. Ic however Dodge Jumping takes you at almost maximum speed to make jumps one usually could only make when being ooc.

Science, Bookah I´m an Asura, we just behave a little kitteny.
