Hi there.
Are the Ascalonian tear gear good for a PvE Thief? I am thinking about farming up tears, and once i hit 80, i will buy the whole set + dd and shortbow. I just have to hear from some experienced thief if this is a good set of armor. Thanks

I would not recomend it, healing power doesn’t go very well with a dps thief. You could farm Cof for some Berserkers (don’t go full zerkers, add some survival)

Go for berserker gear. Or at least work towards it as you get used to thief dungeon play. And make sure you also get a sword/pistol set, it’s solid for trash mobs.

PVT for armor only at the most. More than that really starts limiting your damage. The survivability you gain from more than that starts to hurt you because it gives people more time to react and you really need to keep up the constant pressure.

Roll a warrior for better investment of your time and effort unless you REALLY like the thief gameplay.

Yeah I’d have to agree with every post here. Not to be too negative but like said unless you really like the thief PlayStyle u might have “fun” elsewhere atm.
As for the gear, go to cof and coe dungeons as they offer berzerker gear which is great for everything and often require"d by groups for dungeons. for wvw it is often better use mixed. if your d\d valkyrie is good but for sword I hear pvt is actually better. So yea, stick with berzerker for now.
