I just recently started a thief and i would wanna know some stuff,
Pistol Whip says it does x9 damage, so two questions here.
1. Does it do 9x the damage value shown in the tooltip or is that the total damage?
2. When i use pistol whip it only slashes 4 times after the initial stun, so how is that 9x?

Despite the animation, the game counts it as hitting 9 times. I think they could be doubling up the hits so after the first hit it goes 1 animated hit counts for 2.
And it is the displayed damage hitting 9 times, not 9 hits equals that damage.

i find it weird that the displayed damage is hitting 9 times, because i compared it with P/P’s dual skill, which hits like 13 dmg for 8 times, which is around ~100, but if the pistol whip hits 9 times of 198 damage, shouldnt it be nearly ~1000? When i compare both, both seem to hit the same mob which deals around half the hp of the mob.

When something is formatted that way – ‘Damage (9x): 198,’ it means all nine hits add up to 198 damage. Unload skill tooltip is formatted in an unusual way.
