Acro staff and condi d/d
d/d condi build lacks mobility and disengage mechanics. My trickery tree would be 1-3-2 and instead of precision signet i would go for Spider Venom and ofc Basilisk Venom.
This Staff build wont work. Simply enough spamming Vault all the time will kll nothing. A few misses and evades will leave you soon out of initiative. You need to learn to combine skills like
Impairing Daggers – 2 or 4 – Steal – Fist Flurry
or
Impairing Daggers – Bounding Dodger- Steal – Fist Flurry
or other burst dmg combos. Usually you do a combo as above then play around with Vault-Dodge then combo again to finish.
For Daredevil i would go 3-1-3 or 3-1-2 and Acro 3-3-3
Not sure about the condi build as i haven’t played it myself, but i don’t think it would be very good.
Problem with staff is that vault is easy to dodge, and it lacks interrupts which is really bad when fighting against eles/necros/rangers
But really, d/p is the way to go, i have played maybe 150+ games with thief this season and managed to get to diamond, i have tried almost everything i can think of and in the end i always come back to the “meta” d/p with some slight changes.
I’ve been testing out a few builds over the last few months. I can finally confirm that:
“Staff is love, Staff is lyf.”
Personally, I keep going back to this as a staff build.
It’s not a burst build, but you have tons of mobility and sustain with great damage. I can do the +1/decap role well and can also help a lot in team fights. I can also run away from almost any losing battle to go elsewhere. Oh, and I 1v1 most classes fairly easily.
tbh only really good build is scholar d/p with dash.
I know most thieves are in an unhealthy, non-platonic relationship with trickery, but you will really be wanting acro over trick on the condi build. Your conditions tick slowly and you depend on being able to stay in a fight. A good acro d/d can let you heal against most enemies damage just as good as any bunker. For the same reason I would recommend UC over LT.

He is right on that, been running condi dd very succesfull for a while now. Furthermore, as u dont want dash u need the acrobatic mobility (cleanse, stunbrk, swift) to keep the thiefs advanteges. thats the build u looking for in case (mind that amulet has wrong stats on gw2skills)
