Advice on which class to play
strange, the thief is also in a BAD place all the time !
nerf trains hit like a truck, and no compensation given back
sugestion: don’t play thief, unless you want to troll ppl
Engineer and mesmer (When played at high levels) are two of the least passive classes in the game.

That’s why I’m asking for opinions, because I simply don’t know. Mesmer does feel somewhat passive or indirect though, with the phantasms having to do your bidding.
For pvp mesmer is pretty easy. Glassy engineer builds can be very challenging. Ele is also very challenging. I would say burst thief, ele and HGH engi are the hardest builds to play

^ this – i recommend trying both
Mesmer clones deal damage but you’re not passive. Often times you’re generating new ones or shattering the ones you’ve got. They’ve got more mobility than you think too.
Engineers have a very dynamic style. A lot of mobility. Their varied weapon/kit ranges mean bouncing back n’ forth from mid to close to long range and back again. Kits offer a unique no-CD weapon swapping. Since you’re used to a thief’s only limitation to spamming weapon skills being initiative, you’ll enjoy being able to constantly swap kits and fire off skills.

Alright man, think I’ll level my engineer next then. He looks pretty sweet anyway
Anet wants you on a warrior and in sPvP for their e-sports.

I still can’t decide. Elementalist looks like a lot of fun because it’s more about fast combos and less about calculated moves like a thief (would be fun to do something different for a change) but on the other hand it’s also a really squishy class. And this game really does not like squishy classes at all.
