Am I the only one happy with the recent patch
As I said in other topics I think thief is still a good class, maybe the best balanced class in the whole game with at least 3 usefull weaponsets for PvP (D\P S\D S\P) and 4 for WvW (P\D), with the shortbow as an ever green weapon choice.
Those weaponsets stated above don’t need anything else now, if A-Net can focus now on P\P only and some weak utilities\traits that no one utilizes (traps?), the class will be perfect to me.
A-Net then should focus exclusively on other classes, which have or overpowered specs or too weak specs, if they can tone down a bit those OP specs (terror necro, turret engie, pu mesmers) and buff other specs on the same classes, the game will finally start to shine.
but they’re a lot stronger
than they will be next year!
What???
Ok =) Just try now to kill Meditation Guard and Ele Celestial =)
Choking gas- wtf that dmg???
Nerfing S/D so much FS – 4nitiative for LS neet hit target and everybody can dodnge FS it takes time for casting
If thief will be fight vs enemy ( another class ) with equal skill thief will die!

Majority of complains are about bugged steal, BP and LS nerfs, not stealth… but yeah good try, 1/10.
[Teef] guild :>
So what else than stealth? You can easily drain a thiefs initiative pool and kill him then. Especially certain classes …
How can I fight an engi or guardian with S/D, D/P or S/P?
Probleme is FS blockable
While is see many sad posts about thieves nerfed down, as I read the patch notes there are only buffs to this class. Most thieves relied way too much on stealth, meaning they were in stealth about 90% of the time in any battle.
When changes came and that’s good they came, now you need a bit more skill and timing to do the same thing. It’s only it was actually easier for the unskilled ones to look up the net for some “never see me” “I hit you but you shouldn’t hit back because I am so used to stealth that I forgot how to use my mobillity”Thief is the profession who’s weapon skills have NO cooldowns. Thus this is the one profession that really can be played in Many different ways with the same weapon set without any need for rotation, the thief will switch weapons if he wants to, given the circumstances, not because he has to.
This is by far the most versatile class from the game. I love it. I main as thief, and I really like the changes. I used stealth where I needed it. But that was not my ONLY option to stay alive.I am sure that I am not the only one still confortable playing as thief, I am quite sure that there are still hundreds of others. But the voices of sorrow can be heard louder then the voices of joy
Dude, did you even READ the patch notes ?
The effects on stealth are non-existent. My D/P thief carries merrily along like nothing has changed. It’s mainly the sword thieves who are complaining. I give you 1/10 for trying to stir kitten up.
@ Atlas you must main a Ranger… Enough said…
@Atalas
Which buffs?
Thieves get only nerfs and every buff caused in a stronger nerf after a few days.
-Charr Thief-
It’s good to be bad!
He is most likely a PVE and perhaps WvW player , so he can live with the changes .
In sPvP however the patch was quite bad for thiefs – but you will only understand when you play sPvP , and not on casual hotjoin level where you can run with 30 in SA and think you would change the outcome of a game that much….

Perhaps he meant buffs to Ripper and Deadly Strike cos you know, underwater combat is sooooooooooo important.
He IS a a PVE and perhaps WvW player , so he can live with the changes .
Fix that for you
@Atalas.4965 you never played a single tournament match solo or team. Thus you have NO idea, why most thief pvp players are complaining.

I know that he mean this, but two little buffs can never compensate all these nerfs in the last two years.

90% of the time….. mean in 30sec fight. thief only reveal 3sec?
meh
Interesting, some guys complaining here, yet good players are not here to cry about stuff that are really not affecting their game. I do play sPVP and PVE, not so much WvW. I really love the changes, of course some may cry about it but that’s life.
People will always complain. They like to have something to shake their heads and and moan about, and in the event of positives, most will dismiss it and focus entirely on the negative, preferring to find common distaste than common appreciation. It’s also why the news reports mostly bad news.
I’m happy with the changes, with the exception of a blocked flanking strike not turning over to larcenous, and I think they should have reduced the cost of black powder down to 5 initiative after nerfing it. Thief is still just as viable as before. I’ve said so on many a QQ thread, but as I said, people want to complain, so my posts were burried with perhaps a couple of responses insisting the opposite - merely simple contractions, devoid of reasoning, of course.
See what I did there? I complained about the complaints. I saw what you did too: creating a new thread for people to complain to each other on!

I’m mostly annoyed with how they bugged steal then said they fixed it and actually made it worse. For me, it no longer prioritizes stab and aegis so both of those essentially break steal for me until they run out. Plus having steal randomly miss is no fun and makes it really hard to take traits that boost steal if you know they’re only gonna work half the time.
I don’t play anything but ranger now. Zerker ranger bursting noobs from half way across the map.

No, just no. 90%? Do you pull these numbers from where the sun don’t shine? A d/p thief will spend about 50% MAX of any fight in stealth (this is only the case if the fight is over very quick, if the fight lasts longer than a couple of successfully landed backstabs then this stealth uptime starts to scale off very drastically due to how “expensive” it is for a thief to get into stealth.
S/D is way less.
S/P even less than that
P/P + P/D are terrible in pvp, so idc about those, and I don’t play enough wvw these days to know how much stealth the thieves are getting with these builds but I imagine it’s no more than D/P.
D/D absolutely relies on stealth totally and is extremely difficult to use against good players, so it’s kind of moot on that one. Getting into stealth on D/D is also much more dangerous than on any other build.
Anyway, you are wrong about stealth uptime.
Also, thief is really bad now. REALLY bad. Worst class imo. I’m not playing thief again until they admit they screwed up on FS>LS and they fix the copious amounts of teleport bugs that have materialised recently.

I’m happy that nobody is playing S/D thief any more because that means now I can hop back onto my thief from my mesmer and continue playing something nobody else seems to be playing
Mesmer, Engineer turret, and Ranger buffs were all horrible.
WvW has been pretty sad for me. I tried playing with my build to take advantage of the p/p changes but its just not powerful enough once you get past the oooo factor of numbers popping up when you unload into a group.
D/D is still my favorite but other class are walking over me without any thought.

There were quite a few rude posts in this thread and they’ve been tidied. The conversation is fine, but please don’t toss in insults or off-topic comments. Thanks.
